Fernandos Express — Restaurant in Worthing

Personally cannot fault the food, always fantastic. However, tonight one member of staff in particular was very rude. Myself and 2 friends were passing by and decided to pop into Fernandos express for some good food which we did often. We were welcomed in by the door staff and proceeded to order one by one. We were instructed to sit down once we had ordered, which we did. About 10 minutes later our food was served in our takeaway bags and my friend who had multiple items (for her kids) checked her bag to ensure all items were present before leaving. She noticed that 2 cans of drink were missing, so she politely alerted a member of staff to let them know she was missing these already paid for items. This member of staff was very quick to tell her she was wrong but when shown the receipt which confirmed she had paid for these items she had not received he told a member of staff behind the counter. This member of staff simply replied ‘ain’t my problem’. I’m sorry? Regardless of being an ‘open til late’ restaurant, people are still paying for your service and food. I would not expect to be told by a waiter at a sit down restaurant that it ‘wasn’t his problem’ when I informed him I had not received an item of food I had already paid for. I felt this was extremely rude, unprofessional and simply obnoxious. We were polite from the second we walked in the door and have been there so many times before. Sadly after tonight I feel that I do not want to spend any more money at Fernandos express as I do not feel like I am valued as a customer and more like dismissed for being a ‘drunk passer by’ - (May I add, was not intoxicated) and simply felt taken for granted. Will be spending my money else where in the future on a business that respects and values...

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered online for collection, when it said “ready to collect” we went straight there to collect and guess what?nothing was ready, they were still cooking it. The attitude was disguisting, looking at us like we are disturbing them (maybe because this was a late order 9.50PM but still) and even though We ordered Grilled Chicken Menu with MEDIUM SAUCE, the food was horribly spicy, I mean literally you could see lots of chillies on your meat, it was impossible to eat. I suppose this is because of the time. The salad was 90% onions and few bits of lettuce and tomatoes. All in all disgusting experience and hope everybody will read this before making a LATE order. Maybe they should change the opening times if they are not able to follow an order at this time in the evening. Never ever recommend this...

I had a delivery tonight, normally very good but the service and delivery times are always dubious. I ordered at 19:13 and email/website advised upto 55 minutes. I called to chase at 8:31 and it was just leaving. It arrived around 8:50 which means I wasn’t the only delivery en route. My meal was cold and my wife’s was warm at best. I called them to tell them that the food was substandard I was then redirected to the manager who said we could have our food redelivered in 20 minutes, I said they couldn’t even deliver it in 20 minutes from the previous conversation and could we just have some sort of credit for next time. I was told that was impossible and would I like to have a collection of the cold food and a redelivery of hot food. I just said thanks and won’t use them again when there is plenty of choice for chicken restaurants...
