What a great discovery. Recently had a trip to ninesprings park in Yeovil. A good size car park (2.25 charge for 3 hours) there's a cafe by the main car park. All your favorite coffees and flavours, tea hot chocolate, cakes and sandwiches. There's a customer toilet here also. Disabled parking too. There's a lot of the park that's wheel chair friendly. We walked from the main car park into the park walking on a good tarmac surface through the trees. There's a bridge on the path way with a very bumpy surface. Eventually leading to a play ground, swings, climbing frames and seats. Also an ideal place for a picnic. The path then heads into the woodland park. The surface is good to walk on but gets alot rougher and there's some hills and narrow parts of the walkway. The walkway follows a river with some lovely pool areas and waterfalls along the way. It's really quite scenic. The path eventually comes away from the water and heads up into the woods. We found a seating area with wood carvings. Following the path we heading down the hill through the trees and back towards the main car park. Will return to this park and I recommend anyone with access to it to plan a day here. A great discovery of a well looked after park in...
Read moreNinesprings, on the outskirts of the town of Yeovil, is a beautiful country park covering 20 acres. The park consists of a large lake alongside the River Yeo and a number of streams, springs and waterfalls that flow down through an enchanting wooded valley.
The valley and river are home to a population of otters, many bird species, reptiles, bees and butterflies. Next to the cycle park and the car park for Ninesprings is the Ninesprings Cafe – the perfect start and end to a visit. It’s also an information centre for the park where you can read about the wildlife and history of the park and kids can play on interactive displays. Takeaway food and drink are available, to take around the park with you.
Ninesprings is a lovely place to visit with lots of footpaths to explore and benches to sit and enjoy the waterfalls, grottos and wildlife. It’s perfect for a picnic, great for kids and dog friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcome around the park and there is also an excellent play park...
Read moreA great local park to take the children and/or pooch. It has come on leaps and bounds over the years and a lot of wildlife and flora now flourish. A family of swans nest every year on the lake. You can feed them and the ducks just make sure it is suitable duck feed. The woods feel almost magical with waterfalls, springs, mini caves and streams to wear your wellies and splash about in and you will often see rabbits, squirrels, foxes, stoats and a variety of birds including the elusive King Fisher if you are quiet enough! Great for amateur photographer's. Whether you want to take a walk or amuse the kids in the park there is plenty to do. There are some decent toilets and cafe at one end of the park. Great for a rest or warm up on cold days. The only slight issue I have is some of the management of wildlife and conservation, I question the humanity of their actions such as leaving poison boxes for...
