We came here for lunch as we saw they had a couple of veggie options on the menu. I ordered the mushroom pie with chips which was quite nice. Decent size too and the chips were good. My husband had the veggie burger which he enjoyed, again the chips were nice. We ordered the veggie sausages with peas and beans for our baby. The sausages were rock hard and very dry (literally struggled to even cut them). We asked for a replacement which was quite straightforward and the staff were very kind about it and polite. They actually replaced his whole meal which was kind. Atmosphere was fine, toilets were okay. The table was a bit wobbly an annoying and when I wiped it for my son to eat at the wipe was very dirty so that was a bit gross but otherwise kind of what you expected at a family pub. One thing which was alarming was how hot the plates were when served. Fine for adults but the waiter put a piping hot plate down in front of a 1 year old baby. I had to quickly move it away. It did have a good kids menu and was dog friendly.

A modern, well used (almost estate) pub, but on the Cask Marque AleTrail, so deserving at least one visit. The beer Stargazer 4% poured straight from the barrel was in noble condition and well deserving of the Accreditation Certificate awarded - there are three more waiting to settle and worth coming back for. The carpark is to the rear - don't linger in the Pay-and-display area, which looks like it could be for the pub, drive through this, there is plenty of room out the back Very much in need of some tlc in many places - at least a cosmetic paint job on the doors. Cleanliness could be taken up a notch or two also - unwiped serrvices, glasses, left on tables, litter in the loo and grounds. TV screens everywhere, good place to go to watch sporting events. It's clearly popular, but not on everyones 'must do list. I didn’t stay for food, having eaten at my previous stop.

We came across Coopers Mill whilst visiting Somerset on holiday. We arrived hungry & thirsty with 4 boys in tow… My husband asked if there was any availability & the bar tender (maybe manager) was really polite & friendly, he invited us all in, showed us the choice of seating areas that were free & made us feel extremely welcome. We ordered food & drinks for everyone - drinks being ordered at the bar & came straight away, food however did have quite a long wait of about 45 minutes. When the food did arrive it was hot & tasty although our eldest sons meal had been forgotten, so he did have to wait an additional 10 minutes - mistakes happen, but as I mentioned earlier, it was hot & tasty so can’t overly complain! Desserts were lovely especially the ‘Peach Tart Tartin’… Overall a great place to eat, drink & relax…Super friendly staff & would highly recommend!

I booked in advance and paid a £10 deposit £5 each for my son and myself. On arrival I asked for our table and the lad behind the bar pointed to a smallish round table right in the middle of a crowd of people all sat around watching football with 3 people actually sat at the table. I looked at the lad but he didn't move until I asked him if he could ask the people sat there to move as I had paid for the space but when I walked over one of the people sat there was about 10 years old and I felt guilty and told his dad it's OK leave him there and I had to sit on the seating that goes around the wall so to speak and after ordering our food as I tried to eat at the table but ot was silly as the table was too far from me to eat comfortably so I ended up putting the menu and my meal ON MY KNEE to eat. I was very unimpressed that I had to actually pay a deposit for the table to have to end up sharing it and eating like I was sat in a living room This was unacceptable and very disappointing. The staff were great mostly apart from one girl who seeing me stood there totally ignored me and served what seemed to be her regulars. Another lad served me but I was annoyed at the time and let him know but I apologised and told him it wasn't personal. Overall very disappointed as it seems like i was pretty much the only one who paid a deposit (after asking a few customers who were mainly people who had just finished work knew nothing about deposits so thanks for that coopers mill) for my son and myself to eat. Good service terrible experience! 23/06/24 Since leaving my last review I was contacted by Daryl and he was very helpful. As mentioned I didn't really review the food which was actually very good so much so my son who was with me wants to go back to coopers mill for his birthday because he loved the katsu curry chicken. He's portion was massive and I didn't think he would eat it all but he did not bad for a 10yr old. I look forward to going back which quite honestly I didn't think I would but after my interaction with Daryl he was really set on putting things right and that's...

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Asked for a lattee, diet coke and and iced water. The man behind the bar started to make an Americano asking my husband did I want milk, to which he replied that he had ordered a lattee, long story short I eventually got my coffee to find it was like warm. Meals X3 were ordered, bearing in mind it was only 12.20, and only 3 tables being used, we waited 55 mins for our food to arrive. My lunch, came out over 5 mins before the others, salmon and prawns Luke warm, chips soggy. The other two meals arrived. Two rare streaks were ordered. One was med to well the other well done, chips warm and soggy, side orders of mushrooms, were very disappointing as the were not recognisable and the scampi was well over cooked cold and soggy. We spoke with the man from behind the bar, who should not be working behind the bar as he had no customer service. He went and got the manager who had spent most of the time we were their on his phone, he asked what was wrong, my husband explained and he apologised and said he would give us a full refund. Whilst doing the refund at the bar the manager again appologiesed as said that they were not normally that bad. He then went on to say he would go in and talk with the KP to find out was was going on as the food was not good. Why was a kitchen porter cooking??? Who knows. Really will not be back. With reference to your response, I did contact you by email the same day to discuss this review. It is now 26/10/21 and you still have not contacted me. Customer service,...

Being a whinging old sod means I gripe more over lesser things, does this however guarantee a more in depth review...well, we shall see on that one.

So, at 43 I decided it was about time to do a solocation without the fruits of my loins, and the partner I don't have. As expected, long, unbroken drives aren't the most pleasant things, especially when you factor in the motorway neanderthals....I digress.

Pulled up at the Coopers Mill into the car park next door as I wanted to see what all the fuss was about regarding Yeovil Country Park....less said about that the better, a 2 hour walk took 5 because I have the world's worst sense of direction.. After being shredded to bits by Yeovil's wonderful countryside, I nipped into Coopers Mill for a cheeky cider and a bite to eat, it is thoroughly modern and inviting, the staff were 'bend over backwards' friendly and ordering was simple (thank goodness). I plumped for the bacon and beef burger which took around 15 minutes to arrive (there weren't many people in at 15:30) and it was as nice as the cider I had (sorry, can't advertise).

The only gripe I had which was beyond the pub's control was a loud mouthed family (more the father than anyone else) who obviously never got taught how to be when around...
