I am an adult student at Penn State Abington and I love it. I have read the previous reviews about parking and I agree it's very difficult to find parking, but the campus has an offsite parking lot at a nearby shopping mall with shuttles to take students to and from the university. There are also shuttles from the regional rail for those students that live a great distance from Abington Campus as well as transportation to and from Philadelphia. There are a number of alternatives other than parking at the campus one just needs to look or ask. Other state universities require a fee for parking (usually a large amount) and this one doesn't, so to wait for parking to become available or to take a shuttle can be a much better alternative.

The cafeteria can become very packed but I don't necessarily think it's meant to be a hangout place for friends, it's meant to be an area to eat. If a group of 10 can't find a place to sit together, then don't sit together. Separate the group, eat, and then meet up after lunch. There are other areas to hangout. There are gazebos outside, as well as locations outside of campus, perhaps a mall or each other's homes?

The price of food is not more expensive than other places such as fast food restaurants. If it's too expensive and one cannot afford it, bring food from home. There are microwaves in the cafeteria and other locations on campus, many people bring their own lunch/dinner to campus and there is nothing wrong with that. If a student feels embarrassed about bringing food from home to eat in front of friends then eat it elsewhere on campus then meet up with friends afterwards.

The most important and best thing about Penn State Abington is the facility. I am a psychological and social science major and every professor I have met is awesome. They are approachable, empathetic, knowledgeable, and fair. Anytime I went to any professor with an issue, every one has worked with me and done above and beyond what was necessary to accommodate my needs. Abington campus has a great undergraduate research program. If you're interested in a career in research or have plans to go to graduate school, they can help provide a great competitive edge as long as students take the time to look. Talk to advisers about your passions and they will direct the way, after that it's up to students to use the resources that is available.

Although Penn State Abington is a small campus, the education that I've obtained has been outstanding and would recommend it to anyone. The price for tuition is lower than all schools in the surrounding area, the education is top notch, the campus is beautiful and the name "Pennsylvania State University" is a name that many employers know and respect. Why wouldn't a soon-to-be college student at least go to an open house and decide if it's the...

The school is not for everyone, but if you're looking for a home away from home and a quiet space, you've found the right place. Abington offers many opportunities, even though sometimes they're hard to make note or notice of. Not everything is said on the announcement sheet of every bathroom stall.

The majority of teachers here are so dedicated on being here and teaching you. They actually care about you and what grade you get. If you don't, it's usually all down to how you studied, did you put effort, did you care at all, and did you ask them for help? I've had many teachers stay after class just to tutor me in subjects I only had to take once, but needed to pass. When they helped me, one on one, and when I put my own effort in at home, I passed with flying colors. You won't get by thinking it's easy. Occasionally, you'll find a minority of teachers that aren't helpful. If that's the case, drop them, and take the class with someone else. Don't waste your time or your money when you could be learning from the best.

I also find it funny when people park where they're not supposed to. You're going to get a parking ticket. I know you may not like your car being parked off campus, but the school made a deal that you would be able to go to school here and keep your car safe elsewhere. If you do want a good spot, get here early. The most annoying thing is when people ask me if I'm leaving. The parking situation is never going to change because of a million reasons. There are going to be dorms available soon and there is still apartments at college station. If you don't need to drive, don't. You'll save yourself a headache.

I was able to go to Japan with Penn State Abington for Spring Break and also some additional days. They didn't keep us on a leash while we were there. We had seen the sights, and then we were free to roam on our own. It was really awesome. I've met some really cool people here. I've challenged myself in ways I never have before and learned a lot about myself.

Each semester I tell myself how much I love it here. This is coming from someone who originally dropped out of college to begin with. I'm 25 now and almost done an accelerated degree in Corporate Communications with a double minor. I went from freshman to junior in a year. How's the possible? Extra classes. Full time is 12 credits, I like to take 19 to 22. I also took accelerated summer courses, they were much harder, but necessary. And the bright side is, you don't have to pay extra.

The mall is close to the school, so feel free to go shopping during a break. There's also many other stores and restaurants in the Abington shopping plaza, and other plazas close to the school. If it's warm, it's in walking distance, but no sidewalks so be careful! All in all, it's literally the best choice I...

Congratulations on considering attending one of the most overcrowded campus in Southeast Pennsylvania! Here at PSU Abington we can offer you no place to park your vehicle because, being a commuter campus we are - we cannot even hypothetically accommodate parking needs of the entire student body due to a very limited piece of the land that we occupy. Did you say "too overcrowded"? Even our dining hall is too small to fit in all of the students who want to have a lunch with their friends, and for that reason our college library serves as an informal extension of the dining facility. Groups of 6 to10 people eating their food while playing table games and/or discussing their private lives are too distracting to study for your finals? Not to worry - there's always plenty of other places to study: one of them being your car (unless of course it is parked 2 miles away); the second one is a beautiful sunny atrium located in Sutherland building. Well, actually, as I'm writing this review, the receptionist that works behind a flimsy door separating the atrium from her desk is having a little party with 3 other staff members and they are laughing so hard that I can scarcely focus on finishing it. Oh, yeah, these are the only two options available at your disposal if you're looking for a quick noise-free studying session on campus. Good thing you don't have to pay $40,000+ to go here.... you...
