Attended a wedding at this location the management was terrible. The owner specifically spent the evening we had rented out harassing the bride, groom, caterers, and family attending with threats of towing vehicles, and calling the police on them. The owner was essentially power tripping over any and everything she could; she even interrupted the wedding ceremony to try and be a part of it. The initial plan was for the entire weekend to be rented out so we could take our time getting everything ready, twelve hours after that first payment she called, and explained more money was owed at an extra $15 per hour to her nephew so he could guard the park while we weren't there. Because of her money grubbing with hidden fees the plans ended up being changed to a 1 day Noon - Evening rental, which she went out of her way to ruin. Avoid this place...

I recently catered a wedding that was held at the Living History Park. While the park itself is beautiful, the staff literally could not give it to me free of charge. The kitchen had no running hot water, we were badgered every two minutes to move our vehicles while we were trying to unload food for the reception. The parking is nonexistent unless you park an enormous distance from the venue. It's my understanding that the wedding couple were then hit with several hundred dollars of hidden fees. While I was very impressed with the venue, I was disappointed...

Let me cover the long list of positives from our visit: grass and a few benches. Where else can one go to find both grass and benches in the same place? Pack your bags now, load up the sports wagon, and make sure your phones are charged to take pictures of all the excitement, like walking, sitting, and standing. Oh, but don't pack any balls, for those are against park rules. That's right, a park that allows no balls. What's next? No fun? No smiling? No sunshine? At least the employees/volunteers were rude and cantankerous. Admission was free and worth...

This review isn't so much in regards to the park, but its public presence on social media. I've been going to this park for 30 years, including as a re-enactor in the early 1990s. I've watched it grow over the years. However, it's online presence has a focus on posting hateful divisive political posts that are far-right wing and using their profile(s) to spew radicalized propaganda. Seems that the Living History Park has confused nationalism for patriotism. Extremely disappointed that Living History Park has forgotten its purpose. I will not be supporting the park anymore.

This was our first time going to the Living History Park and it was incredible to say the least. The park is definitely a hidden gem in the area, hidden by trees and shrubs you all most miss it if you are not looking for it. I have been to other parks such as this one in Virginia and it's a must see. All the participants are great and you can tell they love what they do. Our favorites were the blacksmith and the mill. 10/10 would highly recommend.

It's open to the public where you walk along a path and see old building replicas. They are all locked (maybe because it wasn't an event day) and some buildings were boarded up entirely, which is sad. But it was a nice little outing and the grounds are pretty. It's not a huge park, so if you want just a little nature walk and not spend more than an hour, this is a nice option.
