Hilltop Hobby Shop — Attraction in Akron

I want to give six stars but Google only lets me give 5. I'm not into trains but I do enjoy building and collecting HO scale models of tractor-trailers. I visited this store because my go-to store was closed for the holidays, and I was not disappointed.

I found a lot of models and kits here that I had a hard time finding anywhere else, including some obscure and foreign kits from Ukraine and Germany. I had a lot of specific trucks I wanted to build models of and I found parts or complete models of nearly all that I had in mind at the time. Additionally, there's a lot of highly collectible models being sold here at reasonable prices.

Everyone I interacted with there was extremely helpful and friendly, and they know their way around the store. They also recommended me similar products to that which I was buying, and showed me where to find them. I enjoyed shopping here so much that I came back a few days later, where the same level of service was once again upheld. Easily one of the best hobby shops...

There are really nice but they really ripped me off both times i went in. They knew i did not know anything about thetrains someone gave me to sell to pay my rent. After i left i called the guy that gave them to me. He is a big time collector. And he told me how much they were worth and i got ripped off for over $100! I know that they have to make there money but the book price was $400 for the 1 car! I got $160 for 3! The actual totalvalue (used) for all 3 things i brought to them was $535.00! USED! So like i said i know they need to make there money but they did not even give me half of the used book value! Never going...

This is by far the best hobby shop I have ever been to!! Not only does this shop have an abundance of product at an affordable price (More than any other in Northeast Ohio), but Mark is an excellent salesman who puts the needs of others above himself. He is also very knowledgeable. All of the other hobby shop owners Ive come across are antisocial and act as if they hate their customers, except when they want to nickel and dime you!!!.
