Some of my family members have been going here for close to a year now, we have even recommended this place to other people too. At first, the experience along with the work done on the nails was amazing. I personally did not start getting my nails done there until I saw the work they did on my family. I finally decided to go and the first time was okay, it seemed that I was always paired with a nail tech that was new because she often messed up my nails. My last straw was when she used the drill to take off the builder gel for a new set and absolutely ruined my nail beds. Then she put the new builder gel, proceeded to drill the top some more and drilled so much that there was clear spots in the gel which means she drilled deep enough to my natural nail. On top of that, I noticed she pulled the cuticle clippers straight from her drawer, took the little silicone cover off of it, used it on me, then proceeded to put the cuticle clippers back into that same cover without disinfecting and put it back in her drawer. I also noticed the drill bits still had powder on them from I’m assuming the last client and after she’d use the drill bits on me, she would just put them right back in the holder on the desk. I never saw any disinfectant or anything to clean the tools. I stopped going after that but a few of my family members continued to go. One of my family members went for a “deluxe” pedicure, builder gel manicure, facial waxing, and brow tinting. The brow tinting was poorly done, one brow was thicker than the other and they were uneven. She had the appointment with Thy, yet Thy did her finger nails and then left without doing her pedicure. Like she actually grabbed her purse and left the store and left an older man to do her toes instead. She told me the man had no clue what he was doing and it was a simple French tip design she was getting on her toes. She wanted a flower design too but the man took so long to do the pedicure that she told him to forget about the flower. Her appt was at 12, the pedicure started at 1:30 and the pedicure took more than an hour and half before she had enough and told him he could just wipe the hot towel stuff off her legs and cut the pedicure short. The quality of the pedicure was okay but it’s more so the unprofessional ways they go about things for the price they charge. This is not the first time we have had a bad experience either, we have kept quiet about several things for a while because we liked the work they were doing. I have realized the the quality of the work isn’t worth the risk of getting a fungus or something like that from dirty tools and the overpricing of a “deluxe” pedicure. They are obviously extremely unprofessional, from her husband walking around talking about women in a misogynistic way, to being told the owner was on a “surprise vacation” when we showed up for an appt that was scheduled with her specifically, her poorly trained staff, inconsistent work, and overpriced services, I definitely do not recommend this...
Read moreRecently had a very disappointing manicure at 4J nails. I made an appointment for July 23, 2024 and when I arrived they stated that I didn't make an appointment.
I requested a structured gel manicure with design work when I made the appointment. They stated they could see me without the appointment but couldn't do structured gel.
I said that was fine, and went forward with removing my old structured gel and ready for builder gel and designs.
In the midst of the soak off, the nail technician stated that they found out what structured gel was and offered me a few different colors. I chose one. I should have realized then that this technician had never done structured gel before.
It was abundantly clear this technician had never done a structured manicure. A process that would typically take about 20 minutes took almost 2 hours. It was also done very poorly. It's the next day and my thumb nail lifted and needed to be removed. The structured gel was so thick that the base layers haven't cured, so this manicure has no chance of lasting.
I had initially asked for designs but changed my mind when I realized the inexperience of the technician. I ended with one base color, and they asked if I'd like a flower on one nail. I said sure. It looks ok.
The nail technician was VERY nice, and worked VERY hard. I don't fault them for not knowing the technique. I do fault them for offering me a service and attempting to complete a service they had no experience with. I don't believe a customer should be a guinea pig, and certainly not without consent.
This manicure was also $75.00, which is ridiculous. One small design on two fingers, a base color, and poorly done structured gel. I know someone else who went to 4J a few days before for a structured manicure with a variety of base colors and multiple designs and their manicure was $65.00. It was also done by someone who could do structured gel and was done well.
The front desk young man was pretty awful to deal with. He was rude, dismissive, seemed as though he'd rather be anywhere but there. A person like that shouldn't be the face of a business.
The parking is also horrible. I think there are like 7 spots in total, and when I left (I was the only customer left in the shop) there were only 2 free spots. So the employees...
Read morePlease be cautious. A lot of people don’t understand the warning signs of acrylic or improperly autoclave tools. The black casting underneath my acrylic is not from lifting but from improper tool use meaning not cleaning tools between clients I was charged $200 for the service a week later. This is what my nails look like blackening casting towards the center or sides of your nails means that there is a real big problem. Please look for the warning signs ladies before it’s too late.
I, Feel Like This, Good Have Been And Amazing Experience except the unwillingness to be blunt about price upfront in order to make more money, I will show you what I was charged and also what I had received the owner of the store had given me the most amazing customer service, and treated me with such tact and care, but this feels like a sheet was being pulled over my eyes because as soon as I went to pay, it was all of a sudden 200 With an extra $35 length fee for my nails. I will leave pictures of both please do not do what I did and assume the nail technicians would let you know the price before hand or leave it somewhere for everybody to see the price there are no pricing sheets, the owner put my nails on her Facebook so if you are reading this, please remove me completely from your account. I want nothing to do with this nail salon. Unfortunately, I will not be spreading the word about this place. God bless you I have never been charged $110 simply for acrylics, and an extra 35 for length This is not gel X, this is acrylic with two nails on each hand with little sparkles on my feet I had gel polish done, and a deluxe service costing 55 No problem with the pedicure only the charges with the full set 100 for each and I left a 20...
