I went there because they were the only store open on Sunday, desperate times call for desperate measures. I went in looking for a battery that could handle 3,000 watts and a 0 gauge wiring kit, along with some RCA wires (4 Y-adapters, 2M to 1F). They would've had to order it, and wanted $750 even with a military discount. Nope. They seemed helpful enough though so I wanted to buy at least something, so I bought the Y adapters and went home. Once I got home I bought the battery and 0 gauge kit for $400 online with shipping. Then I went to install the Y-adapters and realized they had given me 2F to 1M Y-adapters, the opposite of what I needed and absolutely useless to my install. Mistakes happen, whatever, no big deal right? They were already closed by then so I bought the correct ones online for half price. The next day I went back to return them, never even opened, and the guy argued with me about selling me the incorrect ones and then told me that he "doesn't do refunds." No where in the store did I see a "No refund policy" or was advised of said policy prior to my purchase. I was offered in store credit, but they're not getting anymore of my business after what they tried to pull, and I don't need anything else. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, hopefully I'll get my refund one way or another, just wanted to warn the rest of you guys. I've never written a negative review of any company, but that's just silly.
I did receive my refund via check after posting the above portion of the review (weird right?) but only after they made me confirm with my credit card company that I was not disputing the charge. I was also accused of being a keyboard warrior for telling it like it is. They referenced their recordings, and had no response for me saying that they probably heard me ask for 2M to 1F but gave me 2F to 1M. They also said that their no refund policy was posted all over the place. When I pointed out that the first time it occurs is on the receipt after the purchase has already been made, I was told that it normally never escalates to this point and something about online price matching which didn't make sense or seem relevant to me. I was also accused of opening the boxes and removing items from them. Anyways, I'm inquiring with the better business bureau to see if what they're doing is even legal. Based on their other reviews, I doubt it but I'm no lawyer. My intent is to prevent other people from being taken advantage of, because I doubt this is the first person that's happened to, and I potentially won't be the last. I hope they consider changing their refund policy and ethics in general. They tried convincing me that it's industry standard. Having worked in the industry before, and been closely involved with it for over twenty years, I know that's not true.
All that being said, their employees were nice to me and their advice was solid. Their prices may be high but they're selling high end stuff. It's not necessarily a place for peasants. I think their bigger issue is at a management if not...
Read moreAt AUDIO EXPRESS, expect nothing but the BEST!!! BEN, BRAD, DYLAN, AND WRENCHER went above and beyond... from top notch customer service, to incredible quick but yet professional installation, these guy's will get all your audio and security needs taken care of. Ben walked me through all their different products and was very informative about everything. 2 weeks ago we purchased their sophisticated Viper OLED Alarm/Remote start, and a new stereo system that bumps like you wouldn't believe. Yesterday, we returned to get more accessories added to our Viper alarm that they previously installed. Once again, this dedicated team of professionals exceeded my expectations! While they were already working on my car, they went out of their way to tune my amplifier and stereo. WOW, I was elated to get such a surprise. I felt soo bad for Ben and Brad yesterday (1-8-2021), as I was waiting in line to be seen, a crazy lady that they were helping started cursing and getting very hostile with them. I couldn't believe that they have to endure this type of attrious attacks from so-called customers, whom are negligent of purchasing an extended warranty plan. I over heard the whole conversation, she was yelling at them simply because her 3 year old alarm system was in need of a new remote. I'm sorry people, but things eventually go out and need replaced. Buy the extended warranty plan like I did if your worried about equipment failure down the road. NO ONE, SHOULD EVER BE SUBJECTED TO THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR, ESPECIALLY IN THEIR WORKPLACE. I felt obligated to correct her, which in turn ensued in a heated argument between her and I. Anyhow, I highly recommend these guy's for any of your audio or security needs!!! Thanks again to all of Audio Express...
Read moreAUDIO EXPRESS set us up nicely years ago with a car player that was much enjoyed for years.. Felt great about it. Recently when our cd/radio was stolen, I returned without question to Audio Express (still) on San Mateo.
I bought a simple old school SONY for $129.oo and then was surprised that, with odd add ons including $29.oo to BUY a one year warranty, my total cost was near $250.oo
While waiting for the store to open, I found several similar products online with very much lower prices. After parking lot frustrations I went to cashier and asked for my money back on an UNOPENED, sealed stereo box. The shocker: a casual, âOh, we donât do refundsâ.
As I was stuck with this basic almost $250 SONY, I went ahead and approved installation as no one out of the store would buy my now paid for stereo at the high price paid.
While waiting for pricey installation, absolutely no customers came in for sales or installation. Starting to understand why. Early AM difficult for my schedule, turns out coukd have cone in anytime.
At one time I loved Audio Express; no longer. BUYER BEWARE once you buy your million dollar car system, you can NOT RETURN UT AT ALL. With both Amazon and Walmart advertising how easy it is to RETURN items, the Audio Express item NO REFUNDS AT ALL is outdated, and in my opinion, kind of insane.
I am hard pressed to recall ANY store that will not make any effort at all to give customers a refund to credit card or at least store credit.
By the way, the waiting room is two chairs in a broom storage âclosetâ. Todayâs trip to Audio Express is my last unless that $29.oo fee I paid for a guarantee should the product break kicks in. I can not recommend this place as I heartily would have a...
