Friday August 1, 2025 8:46pm I enter the store with my purse on my left shoulder( will include photo of purse. I head straight to 3 where everything laundry is located. I don't know about anybody else but I have to smell everything, and I'm not joking everything. After about 10 minutes I have 3 items chosen in my arms but I have to do one last scan to see if I want to change my mind. All of a sudden this security guard that happened to be standing outside the when I arrived and as I walked in turned and followed me in appeared at the end of the isle pointing and speaking Spanish. I am not fluent in the language but because of the time I figured he was trying to tell me the store was closing. Then he started gesturing towards my purse. Now I got it. I move closer to him, open my purse wide open so that is fully able to see that I have stolen anything from the store. He has me follow him to the registers, I assume he is telling the young ladies his version of the situation so again I open my purse so that everyone can see that I had nothing belonging to the store aside from the 3 items I was holding in my arm opposite the side I held my purse on. You turn and walk inside the store no more that 2 matey 3 steps behind why not inform me then my large purse is not allowed. I am so disgusted, offended, angry and sad all at the same time. Again I am not fluent in Spanish but he had a lot to say to the 2 ladies up front far more than what I am willing to bet needed if the size of my purse is the only issue he had. I will be honest a huge part of me wants to take my complaint much farther but I am willing to bet it will be a complete waste of time. I'm try to stay on the high road and just feel vindicated in the fact that I proved that I had not stolen anything but a part of me feels like egg is on my face. Any...
Read moreGO TO EL SUPER! This place is garbage! I’ve never been to a place where employees work so hard not to do their job. Every time I check out the cashiers cause a problem or look for a problem to waist my time. Last time I was in the store (7/6/18 @ 17:11:26 pm) the cashier Karen would not accept my money because it had a tear in it!??? Called the manager to ask why my money was not acceptable. No reason, no explanation, no service, I Was just told no. Also, this was done after the cashier had already taken my money put it in her drawer and was about to give me my change. I have the receipt #4644. I had other forms of payment and when they assumed I couldn’t pay for my items they began to take the groceries from me. When I told them I would still like to purchase these items The cashier got upset! Do your job! Why am I being treated this way when all I want to do is give you my money. Why would I come to a store that makes it hard for me to do so? I believe this is a place that discriminates against those who do not speak Spanish well and I’ve had enough of this unwelcoming attitude every time I walk...
Read moreI used to love this market. Close to home, great prices on many fresh groceries such as produce and meats. However, this last visit was shockingly horrific. They had a sale on chicken fajitas mix, so I stopped for some. The man at the meat counter put in one handful of the mix from the butcher case, then he walked away into the back area and filled up my bag.
I didn't get a chance to look at it until the next day, but this is what I found: Offcuts. Sinew. Tendons. Fat. AND I am certain that these offcuts weren't kept under proper refrigeration after being separated from the better cuts meant for Latinx customers.
I'm shocked and appalled, and this isn't the first time I have been discriminated against in Albuquerque for my race and language. Yes, I know, irony, right? I have been discriminated against for my gender plenty of times, but honestly, I really felt people are better than this, especially in the service industry. Sad to say that I don't think I'll be shopping at El Mezquite...
