TL;DR: The best Tabletop gaming store in ABQ. Opening in October 2017, Ettin Games and Hobbies immediately stood out from the other local game stores in the area, with a warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly and helpful owners and staff, a phenomenal and regularly stocked supply of games to purchase, a large open game area and a evergrowing, free board game library, but what really sets Ettin apart is the store's "Code of Conduct," which helps to remove a toxic gaming enviroment and provides a friendly environment to play and purchase games. The store's staff is knowledgeable about the products, and incredibly friendly, the store is bright, clean and open, unlike the dim and dark environment of much of the competition that is in ABQ. While much of the week is for open game time, with ample space for everything from Catan to Warhammer, there are weekly scheduled events, with organized play sessions for Dungeons and Dragons, bi-weekly "official" board game nights, miniature and wargaming nights, and other events that come and go off the schedule. Every few months, the store also hosts a "Board Game Flea Market", in which the store will host open table space for anyone to come in and sell their own games and gaming related items, in exchange for store credit, i.e.: I sell a game for 40 dollars, the customer who bought my game goes to the front counter, and pays Ettin 40 dollars, which then goes into a store credit that is held for me, which I can then use to get more new board games from off the shelf. The event is great way to, basically recycle old games from the personal collection, and get some new ones to add in. I have been and will continue to be a regular customer at Ettin, for all the above reasons and more. An excellent place to spend a evening with friends, to make some new ones and to feed a every growing board...

Ettin Games in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a gaming paradise that truly deserves commendation. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The selection of games here is astounding. Whether you're into board games, card games, tabletop RPGs, or miniatures, Ettin Games has it all. Ettin Games & Hobbies is perhaps the nicest tabletop gaming store in all of Albuquerque. Friendly staff and excellent service are complimented by reasonable prices and a pleasant play environment. Ettin offers a free board game library and table space to players to try out many of the titles they offer for sale before you buy them! They offer plenty of table space, and they sell snacks and beverages should you choose to simply play or bring your own games and utilize the space.

Dungeons & Dragons Adventure League games (pick-up games of D&D that new or returning players can simply drop into to learn the game or find a play group) are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6 PM. If you want to reserve a table for your own play group or game, they ask that you call at least one week in advance to reserve one.

Ettin does not buy cards or product from collectors, but they do sell sealed products and they will allow you to pre-order or special order almost any game or tabletop-related product from their distributors.

As a tabletop game player I am always trying to support local shops. I have shopped at every single one in Albuquerque. The level of service and attention that Ettin provides has now made...

Ettin is by far my favorite local game store. Having moved to Albuquerque from a larger city, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a decent store with a good community when I got here, but after more than a year as a regular customer at Ettin I am happy to say that we have one of my favorite stores I've even been to right here. Their stock is solid, and they carry a selection of independent and small-press RPGs you don't always see at a game store, which I personally love. Their play space is very welcoming, has space to accommodate a wide range of play, and the people I've met at the store have in general been friendly and chill. Hard to ask for much more from your local game store, if you don't know where to go, I suggest you go here.

Man, I love this place. My very first introduction to DnD was playing Adventurer's League here, and the staff were super friendly and quick to find us a table. They had a ton of dice to pick from, character sheets, etc. Their collection of board and table top games here is pretty impressive. I like their tab style policy for drinks and such when you're playing here as it makes it very quick to grab a drink/snack and get right back to your game. TL:DR - great people, fun games.

Nice staff, good Battletech inventory and paints from Army painter. D&D and your usual CCG supplies too. Tables and scenery are available, come by and get down with some Battletech, 40k, or what ever you want to try! FYI, there are some Battletech campaigns and leagues there looking for more smiling Mechwarriors! Citadel paints are a stocking issue, but ever since there was a GW store in the area that suddenly becomes an issue for all the FLGS places in the ABQ and Rio Rancho
