I have been taking my daughter and her friend here for well over a year. The first time, I stayed with them, and I felt very comfortable that the staff was doing a good job watching over the kids. My daughter had been asking to go without me and just hang out with her friends. Since I felt like it was a safe place for her, and she is 14, I started letting her go on her own as long as her friends were there. Tonight when I picked them up, my daughter had been crying and told me that one of the staff members was rude and called her ugly. And another was following her around and calling on her group for any little thing. I went in and asked to speak to a manager, and explained to her what my daughter told me. She called the men involved over to talk to me. They denied everything and said my daughter and one of her friends were making trouble. One guy even said he thought my daughter was on drugs! If anyone knows my daughter, they know that is ridiculous! I let them know how I felt and I will be speaking to the owner! When I got back in the car and told the kids what happened, my daughter started crying again and has been upset ever since! I did not want to give this dump any stars, but I could not post unless I did. They don't even deserve...
Read moreHad a good party here for my 12 yr old girl. Everyone was very friendly. We got the package with loot bags and they were pretty good little bags with a few little toys and glow sticks. My daughter got a complimentary orange Roll Arena shirt with the package and also a card for a free skate admission at a later date. The pizza wasn't great but was as expected from a skating rink so it was ok. The only complaint I have (which really isn't a complaint but more of a suggestion) is after the kids eat, do the happy Birthday and cake, and open the gifts the 2 hour party time doesn't leave much time for skating and they make the people there for the party leave after the alotted time so I would suggest letting the kids stay and skate for the second portion and just leave the party room and let the second party come early and skate and then have the party room after the 2 hours. I feel like without this change I would not have another party here as they really didn't get to skate much, I was mostly paying for the room and food. We will be back for skating though, as it is a fun and...
Read moreThey claim to have a 16 and up night, but they've allowed kids in on that night. If you're planning to drive a while to get there expecting it to be kid-free, rethink your plans. I know several people who used to drive there from an hour away just because there were no kids one night a week, but they've broken their own rules.
The music sucks most of the time, and if you ask the owner to play something else, he won't. He clearly doesn't care what his customers want. They allow the kids to skate in whatever direction they want and don't even have floor guards most of the time. When they do, the floor guards don't enforce the rules the rink has posted. They also don't stop kids from playing tag, which is also posted as against the rules. The rules are supposed to help keep everyone as safe as possible while skating, but the rules are not enforced here.
Honestly, I believe the only reason this rink is still open is because it's the only one in Maryville. If it had any competition, it likely...
