Potomac Yard Playground — Attraction in Alexandria

This place is AWESOME! nice, huge playground and a spray pad for summer water play (water shoes are required!) the two separated playground areas are gated (super huge deal) but the spray pad isnt which kind of sucks but not a problem because there is an area between the street and the spray ground. there aren't any bathrooms; only portable potties. there are shaded benches to sit on, and there are eating areas (metal tables and benches) but they can get very hot in the summer because they aren't shaded. This playground is amazing! It’s literally HUGE! It’s safe, clean, and the layout is so creative!! It’s 2 playgrounds split in half divided by a nice splash pad! I think one park is more big kid friendly and the other with the walk through maze is more little kid friendly! My son is 1 and enjoyed this so so much! Had an absolute blast here! It’s very well kept, a lot of seating, there are seating tables, water fountains, and it’s gated! It is near a busy street so be sure to close the gate...

Very nice. Good for toddlers. Not much for kids 8+ unless they bring bikes or scooters to use on the bike path. My youngest (5) was off and running once my back was turned. My oldest (12) was mildly entertained once he did all the playground options. Lot of benches to watch you kids run free. Gated area so kid(s) won't go anywhere unless they actively tried.
