Alam's Home & Hardware Inc — Attraction in Aliquippa

As I was shopping around for a particular grill for my fiancé (wedding gift) I stumbled upon Alam’s who happened to have one in stock and already assembled. Rather than purchase from Bass Pro or some similar large company, I decided to buy small and local. Boy am I glad I did. I spoke with Mike about the grill initially over the phone. I told him that I’d buy it and that I’d be by to pick it up. As promised, when I arrived, the grill was ready to go. Mike - who had left for the day - had informed his employees that I’d be stopping so there was no confusion when I arrived. I was greeted and led straight to the grill. One of his employees then pointed out that an advertising magnet/sticker that was on the grill lid left a mark on it and that they couldn’t get it off. Even though it was a manufacturer sticker - not Alam’s - Mike offered me a complimentary bag of wood pellets and gave me the manufacturer’s contact info to have a new lid ordered. He also gave me his personal contact info should I have any problems with the manufacturer. The employees who loaded the grill into our truck were super helpful and offered my fiancé tips and tricks on how to use it. The woman behind the counter wished me congratulations on our upcoming wedding.Overall great experience. Would drive the 40 minutes and pass up ten other hardware stores for the service at Alam’s. A review from a licensed contractor---- Alam's is hand's down the best and most helpful hardware store you could ever find. They have employees waiting by the front door, ready to help immediately as soon as you walk in. You don't even need to describe what you're looking for- just hand them the 'broken part' that you've brought in, and they're already running down the isles to find the correct replacement for you. Moreover, I've found that most, if not all, Ace branded products are actually better than the 'more popular' brand names. I've pretty much only been buying Ace branded products for the last 5 years- saving hundreds of dollars vs. big box brands and other name brands- and do not have any disappointment or complaints. Apart from all this- they are the ONLY place where I shop who sends me a Christmas card and thank you note, every year. Who even does that anymore?!?!?
