Your Guide- Coffee shop: Best place. I walk in and get treated the same no matter what I wear, and puts his customers before his buisness. Love this place. Will always get one when I come in now. Best tasting coffee you'll get around here, and their tea.. Everyone asks about their loose leaf after they smell mine at work. Its simply Amazing. Plus they help you if you get stuck. Great service! Great people. And hey, they don't support genocide.... So, that's cool.... cough Not that you should expect that but hey. It's 2024 I guess.š Looking at you Star mc. Bucks. Seriously tho, get coffee here. You're welcome. Want coffee grounds? You will either way once you smell them so your answer didn't really matter there. Trust me. Mexican place: You will pay a white tax. Racism won. Got the small jahoba (?) Salad and a burrito. $20. Good food but expensive. No way people buy there and they survive doing that to everyone. Meat place with rotisserie chicken, build a plate: Amazing chicken, amazing mac and cheese. Eat it. So good. Amazing customer service!! Great price. Can't beat it. Further down the line near pizza shop on the left: Edamame salad. Eat it. It's life and amazing. Whole food salads, great price. Great food. Wonderful people. Mediterranean place: Got sick off of all 3 salads, but the baklava. That tasted like old food. Don't recommend. Will not return. Pretzel covered goodness from Amish: Pick the one you want so you don't get 2 burned ones. First time amazing. Second time sad. Pizza: Not amazing, but the customer service is. Love it. Will return. So nice!!! Their pizza is thin and I like it that way. Not Anthony's in easton, better then dominos. Win in my eyes. Kiffle place: Buy it all. I think they get their filling from the jelly place. Home made jelly!? God it's great. Speaking of, get those containers from the jelly place. Put it on fruit with yogurt in those fruit cups. So good. I eat it with nut bread so I don't feel as bad about spooning it in my mouth.... But like.. cmon now. Veggies right when you walk in the middle: Excellent customer service. Vegies go faster, but they're good. And people are above and beyond. Price is so worth it. Can buy quantity here! Blend those fruits, give them money. Win-win. Vegies/fruit On the right side facing pizza place: Got moldy tasting blueberries and he told me to try them. Don't trust. It's across from the meats I believe. Vegies/fruits from front of line near pizza: Not sure about their customer service. Not bad.. Not outstanding. Vegies are freshest. Like they're passed down the line. But the customer service excells the further you go. Meat place on right side facing pizza place: So good. Get it all. All the bagels, home goods, cheeses and cream cheeses are to die for. Get in mass quantity. You're supporting a local buisness and with quality. Worth. Cupcake place: My god. Get the ones with dallops on top. Moist, rich but not too much. Bread is great, and its not filled with preservatives. Worth. Polish place: My dad comes in from out of state and has a collection of money from people who want their various meats. You no it's good. They have the colored eggs, oh do I wish I knew how to make it all myself. But I'll learn. Sushi place: really want to try!! It's made on spot! Like supĆ„ fancĆ«. Haven't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood variety of different merchants. I have relatives spread across the USA ā they're all amazed about the Allentown Farmers Market compared to the farmers markets they have at home
I personally like Culinary Experts, David's Italian Market, Gannon's Gourmet, Johnny's Fresh Meats, and Soul Soup. All are accommodating. Many other merchants as well.
At times, most often around holidays, the Market will offer gift certificates with a discounted incentive (for example: buy $60 worth of gift certificates, get $15 free). These are valid Market-wide, however an expiration date is imposed. I believe the Market's office needs to adopt a better way to sell its gift certificates, not only during promotional periods, but any time in general. Those selling the certificates individually date & stamp every one, which IMHO is inefficient but also leads to lines where customers may be waiting in line during promotional periods for well over an hour to buy their gift certificates, even with the Market imposing a limit as to how many promo gift certificate offers each person may take advantage of. Doesn't make much sense to me.
Also, I believe the Farmers Market could improve its website, both desktop and mobile. Currently (May - June '25) the link to the list of merchants on the mobile site and the link to the Weekly Specials page on both Desktop and Mobile are broken. A few weeks ago I had spoken to someone in the Market office about this.
I also feel the entry and exit doors to the Market should be replaced to be ADA-compliant, not only for those with disabilities. For as busy as the Allentown Farmers Market is, I think it should have automated doors for practical purposes. These would ease entry & exit for parents bringing children in baby strollers, for example, as well as for all shoppers coming into the Market and then leaving with their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was an exceptional visit. Been here before but today was eye-candy.
Reasonable prices most of the time, found everything I needed, courteous people throughout, atmosphere was busy -- but fun.
I don't understand how they can only be open a few days out of the week with all the perishables that are available & always look delicious. Unless, every concession has it's own headquarters, stores elsewhere.
The meats, nuts, bakery items, cold cuts, cheeses -- everything -- always appear first class, fresh & often well showcased. The Vietnam cafe looked like it was doing a brisk business & their plates were quite attractive. Next time I won't eat the standard pizza slices first but try them out & get an education.
Wealthy starched collared people would be missing out if they thought this was flea market cuisine. It's not. Many food concessions try hard...real hard. I don't know where to look.
Could there be improvements? Yes. But until then -- I get my barrel pickles there, my macaroni salads, my greens, & the sample today of smoked turkey bologna I tasted was exquisite.
Many of these concessions have great cooks in charge of their menus & products. Is it for every one? No.
It may not have enough glitter, display cases made of crystal, & a hefty price tag akin to Tiffany chocolates. But much of what is available will please the pallet & the soul.
My taste buds love this place. Satisfaction guaranteed. I make a special trip from NJ just to savor this Coney Island type atmosphere. I always...
