River Prairie Center — Attraction in Altoona

12/16/2023 - We had our wedding at the River Prairie Center and all we can say is wow! Dave, Denise, Connie, and their staff definitely know what they are doing when it comes to weddings. They provide you with their emails and phone numbers and are readily available to quickly respond to any questions or concerns you have. We appreciated the frequent contact and meetings with Denise to ensure we were on the same page for planning our wedding day. From decorating to clean up at the end of the night, the staff was there every step of the way. We did not want our wedding party going through the buffet line and the staff adapted to serve the head table family style along with refilling drinks for the wedding party. We had SO many compliments from our guests that the food was the best food they have ever had at a wedding and that the bartenders were very efficient at their jobs. All the staff were so kind and helpful all night long! My fiance and I toured here for a wedding venue. This place is absolutely gorgeous, offering beautiful outdoor gardens, a small man made creek, a beautiful amphitheater, and much more. The main center is where we booked for our 2019 reception to take place. The inside is stunning. The wooden rafters along the middle of the main hall give the room a very grandiose feel, and what's more is that their very tasteful bar, also has a door to open up to an outside patio area where guests can enjoy cocktails outside by their gas fireplaces. Kirsten has been wonderful to work with so far as well! All in all a wonderful option for anyone looking for an elegant wedding site without the terrible cost that comes with some of the fancier "destination" spots. I cannot say enough good things about River Prairie Center after having our wedding and reception inside here on 12/12/2021! It was difficult to find a venue small enough for only 50 people, but that was also beautiful, and simply elegant. The RPC was the perfect spot for us! Callie was so organized, helpful, and helped us gauge how much catering and all the extra details we didn't know, we didn't know (haha). Everything went so smoothly, the building was so clean (the floor was reflective it was so clean!). Our guests had nothing but great things to say!
