It was my first event here at downtown Anaheim for the Nutcracker 2021. As a vendor I come prepared to be there the time that the email attachments stated. The event coordinator is the manager of the association for Downtown Anaheim Association and she was there to hopefully answer and help with with an issue that I’m sure wasn’t anyone fault. However, the treatment received was not very pleasant. I understand it is a busy day to make an event such as this to be successful. But she wasn’t pleasant but seemed flustered to help me. There was a water puddle that was in all our booths and she mentioned that the porter does not arrive till 9am. First off, the puddle is not our problem as vendors, we arrive on a timely manner which I did. I asked if I can be moved, so we decided to move me to a place that was closer to where my booth would be but unfortunately was further from everyone else. I told the porter when he arrived that it’s not easy to have a puddle of water removed when it’s cold and suggested to put a sign so people would not sue the city if they slip. Anyway, I was certainly disappointed and I have already set up and she mentions later on that if I had time to move, then I could move to the other side. Now, if I had smaller items then that would have been possible, but after 30-40 mins to come back to me to reset up was NOT GOOD. These issues arise but you would think as Downtown Anaheim Association would be decent enough to help vendors who pay a fee to be here and it is the association to make sure we are happy to come back to your event next year. To top it off, she snapped at me after asking her where the free parking was “didn’t you read the email.” Ok, well I did read it, thanks and know the address which I stated to her 235 center promenade. She was quite abrasive and perhaps that is the attitude given the stress level of an event such as this. But honestly, none of the other vendors I know has never heard of this event and these are seasoned vendors. So would I honestly pay my money to be here next year? Probably not. The only person that helped me was her assistant I believe and she was much more pleasant as she was the one who came back to see if I wanted to move. Plus she was patient to help me with the parking. Sometimes having the right attitude really helps in the end because it was my first impression of your event. It was ok, not the greatest but I learned a lot for what I would...
Read moreI avoid Anaheim because I prefer to not be accompany to the toxic dis-knee-peeple and tourists. Despite that extreme "don't want none of this" - parking is not good, driving around is stressful, subject to being overpriced for snacks, bars and anything else, might be too many photo op spots, but, eh worth it to try out. I wouldn't make it the main event or chain of events, but worth a pop over. If local socal rez, do it on a Thursday/Friday, semi...
Read moreThe downtown area restaurants are amazing. You will get the best, custom-curated sandwich in all of Orange County (if not broader range!) @WindsorBrowns. Their ever evolving beer list will not disappoint. The Craft has a fun vibe with great TX style bbq. Promenade Pizza and Shinsengumi are great walk-up options. Not far away is the Packing District that has something...
