Arkadia Surfaces — Attraction in Annapolis

I had the pleasure of working with Arkadia Surfaces this year as I was doing a complete kitchen remodel. I was searching for the "right" countertop. They offered both granite and quartz and other fine surfaces. They were helpful in showing what they had in their showroom. Not only did they have the countertops but also had hardware (pulls and knobs) and sinks selections available. They were also willing to come to the Eastern Shore to install. They're pricing was competitive and reasonable with others I considered.

I had a particular color palette in mind. Once I found what I was looking for they worked with my contractor for the timing to come to the house to take all the necessary measurements for installation. They were very careful to listen to what I had in mind as well as ask me questions of things to consider. The end result was a great collaboration.

They fabricated and delivered the stone to our home within seven business days after measuring. The team was very professional. They were careful not to ding or scratch anything as the moved the heavy stone into the new kitchen. Once the stone was set in place, they made the necessary minor adjustments to the stone so that it was level and aligned. Everything fit AND it looks beautiful!

Update: Arkadia did come out to fix the countertops after this review. If not for the 11 month wait this would have been a satisfactory conclusion to this job.

In November 2023 we had Arkadia come to our home to measure for countertops. A few days later the install team arrived and the sink opening was a foot off of where it should have been. We came back to Arkadia and met with Ken who was going to re-cut only one half of the natural stone countertops and match it with the previous miss cut piece. This would have left two different slabs with not matching grains and colors on a seem. After much convincing he agreed to re cut the countertops from a single slab. After not having a functional kitchen for 10 days the install team came back and installed the second set of countertops. The sink opening was poorly cut and did not have smooth sides. I requested Ken to come back and he agreed to re shape the sink opening after he purchased a new 90 degree grinder bit which was necessary to grind on installed countertops. Several emails promising to come back to fix the countertop led into spring of 2024, with no follow up or phone calls. I assume Arkadia lost too much money on this job, only on the fault of Arkadia, and they decided to cut it off,...

I'm normally not one to write reviews, but Ken and Arkadia Surfaces are worth it. My wife and I wanted new counters for our kitchen and after shopping around we really liked the look of some of the granite that Arkadia had in stock. As soon to be first time granite owners we had a lot of questions. Ken took the time to walk us through their warehouse to see all of their in stock material, answer our questions and provide some do's and don'ts with granite and all with absolutely zero sales pressure. I thought the pricing was very fair and it only took a week from the measurements being taken in our home to the install happening. There were a couple minor things that needed attention after the install, but Ken and his partner were at our home the very next morning bright and early. The finished product is absolutely amazing!! I will use Arkadia Surfaces for any other countertop needs and I would recommend Ken and the Arkadia team to anyone in the Annapolis area looking for custom...
