This was my first time ever eating here and I have to admit that I was really disappointed. After hearing how good the food they serve here was from friends, I had high hopes that I would have a pleasant experience. However, my food was just ok, and barely that. I ordered the moussaka platter that was suggested by our waitress (it included 2 of the items I would have ordered separately). It came with a tiny portion of moussaka (about the size of a small piece of pie), a similar sized portion of spinach pie, 2 small grape leaves, and a large "salad" in the middle of the plate. The salad was basically a slab of lettuce topped with 2 rather large half slices of mushy tomato, 4 tiny triangle pieces of cucumber, a few rings of red onion and huge chunks of feta cheese. It took up about 98% of the plate! The spinach pie was soggy, very greasy and looked as if it had been microwaved which was very disappointing. I basically paid $17.99 for a salad with a side of moussaka and spinach pie that I didn't even eat. Sadly, the only thing I enjoyed was the moussaka. On the plus side, our waitress was very kind and extremely patient with us. Also, I've gotta say that the best part of going there was the desserts. Everything we got was absolutely delicious!! From the lemon cheesecake to the chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse and all the others in between. I will definitely be going back for more. The lady that was serving them was very sweet (no pun intended 😄) and also patient as well. She gave us a happy ending to a rather disappointing meal.

Update: We've been back several times since the last review and the food has been pretty decent most of the time. There have been a few times when I had to get a replacement, but that rarely happens. It has become one of our go-to places when...

Solo bday dinner on crab cake night.$45 meal w tea! Excellent crab cakes! Abysmal server experience ever in 25years! 😕Locale wasnt busy. Ordered crab cakes special now $20 for 1/$40 for 2. Waiter brought my cream of Crab soup, then didn't come back unti he dropped off crab cakes quickly.. Never asked if I wanted any sauce/condiments for my expensive crab cakes, They sat on my table for 10 minutes getting cold waiting for my sideo. Later he quickly dropped off the tasteless underdone broccoli sitting in water & still no tartar sauce! It took 2 other servers 3x just to get him to my table. Finally after waiting 15 min., I politely asked for my cold crab cakes to be reheated. His responded w judgement+ disgust! Only nuked for 1-2 min. so my crab cakes were still cold inside! This server had no timing of food delivery, courtesy or motivation. He was passing my table, never stopping to take finished plates away or check on my progress. When I asked about a complimentary piece of cake for my birthday, (standard at DoubleT), he responded sternly, "I'll have to check with my manager." So much for any trace of positive demeanour for this server.🤔 To get my check, once again it took 10 min! He kept passing my table, while restocking condiments on empty tables. I spoke to mgr. She was going to speak with him, yet no compensation for me.. I did take home the usual piece of birthday cake they offer. (it was packed up as I was not staying any longer!) The kind hostess was very gracious.😕 I have since gone back and spoken to Johnny, one of the caring owners who was very upset. I suggested mentoring of my server paired with an excellent server. This plan is currently in place. I didn't want one v. bad server to jeopardize his DoubleT reputation or anyone else's dining experience....

So, I never write reviews. Ever. But my experience here tonight was one to warrant a review. My partner and I met up with some friends to hit up Third Eye this evening and were getting pretty hungry and craving diner food, so we decided to hit up Double T to satiate that and because our friends haven't been to Double T before. I wanted to call out our server, Jesse (I hope I spelled your name correctly!) for being absolutely AMAZING!! I went to order the deli lox omelet, but asked if it was possible to ensure my food was cooked separately and away from any sort of land animal meat as I have pretty bad alpha gal syndrome, which is a meat allergy from being bitten by a lone star tick. This wonderful man went above and beyond to check with the kitchen and the absolute saint of the owner, John (Jon?) to see if it were possible and was so understanding to my situation and actually cared. John, the owner, cleaned a part of the grill off and cooked my food himself to ensure I would be able to eat what I've been craving safely without any sort of issue. These two made my night and honestly the rest of my year. I was in tears from how happy I was that these two were so understanding and cared so much about my food allergy to make sure my experience was a good one. No other place I've been to has been this accommodating. So with all that being said, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! My partner and I have always loved Double T and it's been our go-to for when we want solid diner food and this experience has solidified it as a forever staple in our lives and someplace I can go out to eat safely and not worry about having an allergic reaction afterwards from my meal being cross-contaminated with meat. Also our food was 10/10 amazing as always.

Tons...

We stopped here coming home from Baltimore (after stopping at Trader Joe’s as well). The outside of the diner is a typical diner look, of neon and chrome. We picked the diner, after much debate, because of the reviews. Two of us had the cream of crab soup. For me the soup hading an overwhelming flour flavor, which took away from the crab, that was trying to shine through. One diner had the French onion soup and gave it a thumbs down. Honestly, the cheese, on the top, looked like a slice of white American. One person in our party of four had the chicken salad club. She said it was “okay”. Another diner had the meatloaf and said, It was “trash”. She did not get the gravy on the meatloaf,. And now we know why they wanted to cover it in gravy. It looked like large slabs of fried mush. There was no meat texture noted in the loaf. The third diner had a turkey, ham, and bacon club. He said it was alright. I had the shrimp salad club, hold the bacon. I took one bite and the consistency was off. The taste was weird. I had another person taste it and she spit it out and said it was bad. I reported this to the waitress and she was very apologetic and asked if I wanted anything else, but my meal was ruined by the taste and consistency of the shrimp salad. Honestly, I knew ordering the shrimp salad was a risk, at a diner. So, rule of thumb, go with your gut. The waitress, kindly, removed my meal from the bill. Lastly, the bathroom was not clean. We decided that we don’t need to return to this diner. *After-note- the desserts looked amazing and one diner got a brownie to go. She said it was awesome. She did report that there were nuts and that wasn’t reported.*

A dinner with an extensive menu. I got the pork chops and was asked how I want them cooked. I thought there was only one cook for pork chops - done. I said medium well. So they were a little under done near the bone. Didn't matter though, cause I only pick up the bone and gnaw on it caveman style when I'm at home. It's the only was to get this parts in the curves, and they are usually the best parts. My mom's friend had a big family and when she made pork chops for them she cut out that big circle part for them and just have the bone parts for herself. The kids thought she was sacrificing while she was getting the best part of ALL the chops - genius. Anyway, they have big, fat steak fries cooked exactly as you expect a dinner to cook them - no fancy seasoning, no matter type crispness on the outside, just plain old American French fries. The break cane with soup AND salad, which is rare. They give you nice big slices of raw onion and green pepper on top. I don't care for either, so I wish they would tell you that so you can say 'no thanks'. I hate to waste like that. I selected the chicken noodle soup over matzo ball soup (whatever that is) split pea (yuck) and vegetable (why bother?). The small cup was jam packed with noodles and chicken and was delicious. They guy who helped me wasn't surly, but he wasn't particularly friendly either. It was in the late evening though, so I chalked it up to a long day. They have an amazing dessert selection, but as usual, I ate all of my dinner and was too full for dessert. The pictures are my entree and one of the desert cases (the other held full cakes).
