The Walgreens corporation built this store, yet the layout is awful. Unless they designed it for you to get maximum exercise while you are there. Everything is far away as possible from the front door. The pharmacy is at the opposite corner of the building, so you have to go across the entire store twice, spreading your flu germs or whatever else you have. I can never find what I need without help, and usually that is because they don't carry it. The prices for everyday items like support hose, are 10X what you can get them for on amazon. And they have most sizes missing. Photography services opposite end of building from the front door. And 20 feet past that for cold drinks. Some items are located right next to where folks talk to the pharmacist. Is that private? And when you are at the pharmacy windows, they try to whisper, because three feet behind you are about 30 people that have been waiting all week for their Amoxil and Naproxen and many other items that should be over the counter anyhow. And it's a hepa violation to not be private. So they whisper and you can't hear them, then they ask you to repeat everything until you are screaming it out to the entire store. Hepa indeed. And the pharmacy is in the corner of the store. Now what is the most difficult way to arrange the drug window? Put it in the corner. Look at Target, Walmart, all the drug store even in grocery stores, wide open middle of the wall. Walgreens, builds their own building, crams it into the corner. And why are the lines so long at the register? Oh do you have your Walgreens shopper card? Oh let me sign you up right now while everyone waits. Or, let me look you up by your phone number. Oh not that number lets try a few others while a dozen sick people infect everyone around them. Would you like to contribute to our need of the month? Just a dollar? It's going to Homes for those that went insane...

When we moved to NC from FL in 2018, we transferred my husband's prescription to a Walgreens on Avent Ferry road in Raleigh NC. Of course he had started a new job, so we had different insurance, but they were able to locate his info in the system from when he had a script filled in CA. I was ready for a hassle, but it all went smoothly and I picked up the script that day.
Fast forward to a few months ago and this awful Walgreens in Apex is now our closest option.
The first issue with this Apex store was in December 2018, his new doctor's office sent in the script for the next 12 months. We waited a few days and it wasn't filled. My husband inquired about this and for some bogus reason they didn't fill it.
Now it's March 2019, he received a text from Walgreen's a few days ago, which admittedly he did not thoroughly read, I guess he should have hit yes in the reply for the refill. Still, this is odd, because I am fairly sure we set it up to be AUTO refilled as I was with him when he picked it up in December.
Unfortunately, we did not find out it wasn't ready until we got to the store today. The pharmacist told us it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so we left, stopped at the post office and Walmart. We came back at least 30 minutes later and it still wasn't ready.
I was fed up at this point, so I'm transferring this script to another pharmacy. I wasn't about to stop back in here for a THIRD time today.

Read moreThis pharmacy has such problems. Between non-communication regarding problems with a prescription, to simply not reading instructions on the script by the doctor. Such as the hand written note at the top that plainly says "Brand Name". They fail to adequately inform customer's of problem with prescriptions. Instead, you have to go pick it up, to only THEN discover they have an issue.
On top of that, my wife calls in refills regularly, states when she will pick it up, is confirmed by tele prompt, only to find it is not ready at all. This after going to pick it up later than stated. It should have been more than ready.
Then there is the constant running out of maintenance type of medications. There are certain meds that should be on hand, instead have to wait for a truck to deliver them. In my case I dropped a script off Thursday evening around 5:30PM, call Friday morning to check its readiness, only to find that it is not in stock and next shipment isn't until Monday. This is brand name maintenance type medication, yet they are constantly running out.
I'd go elsewhere if I could. But I also don't feel I should have to. This is the only Walgreens close to me, and since it is my local pharmacy, and because I have monthly medication needs, I would expect that as a constant customer in a database of information, as well as today's technology, these problem should never been something of an on-going nature.
From staffing to simply being prepared, this pharmacy misses the mark constantly, and shows no sign of...
