Dear Bawarchi Apex Restaurant Management,
I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a deeply disturbing incident that occurred during my visit to your establishment, Bawarchi Apex, on June 11th, 2023, between 3 pm and 4 pm. The service provided by a particular staff member during this time frame was not only disrespectful but also crossed the boundaries of professionalism, leaving me and my family deeply upset and disturbed.
To provide a detailed account of the incident, the staff member in question insisted that we pay a gratuity of 20%, even though it is customary for gratuities to be left at the discretion of the customer. Despite settling our bill and expressing our dissatisfaction with his demand, the staff member proceeded to follow us outside the restaurant. His behavior continued to be unprofessional as he used inappropriate language and raised his voice, causing a scene in public. This behavior is utterly unacceptable and has no place in a reputable establishment like Bawarchi Apex.
I must emphasize that this incident was not an isolated event. We have noticed this particular staff member's disrespectful behavior on previous occasions, not only towards customers but also towards his coworkers. In one instance, he was involved in a heated argument with several colleagues, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere in front of multiple guests. Such conduct not only reflects poorly on the individual in question but also tarnishes the reputation of your restaurant as a whole.
In light of these incidents, I strongly urge you to take immediate and strict action against this staff member. It is imperative that you address his unethical behavior and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. As a loyal customer who has previously enjoyed positive experiences at Bawarchi Apex, I believe it is crucial for you to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
I trust that you will treat this matter with the utmost seriousness and urgency...
Read moreI placed a catering order for a party at bawarchi. My family has allergies and I thought they'd be allergy aware because their menu had marking for nuts on it. I ordered items that didn't have the nut marking on them, and spoke to the manager (in person) to confirm that the items did not have nuts and informed him of our allergies. He assured us the items were nut free. When we got the order and unpacked it at the venue, we noticed that one dish was topped with cashews. We couldn't eat it since our allergies are life threatening and had to delay the party to make safe eating arrangements. When we went back the next day (with a picture of the dish covered in cashews), the same manager told us that the chef usually doesn't put cashews in that dish but must have decided to that day. He argued with us and told us we never told him we were allergic to nuts and that we told him we're vegan. This is obviously not true considering on of our dishes was paneer-cubes of cheese made of milk. After explaining to him how dangerous this was and how someone could have died if we hadn't noticed, he said "sorry, what do you want me to do about it?". I requested a refund and he refunded that one dish (not the whole order). Overall he did not seem that concerned or upset. I told him that he has allergen markings in the menu, they need to be accurate, and that a chef cannot randomly add nuts to a dish that is marked as nut free. He did not respond to this comment. (This was all an in person conversation). If the manager was shocked and upset this had happened and was very apologetic, I might have been able to attribute it to innocent human error, but the fact that someone could have died and we barely got an apology made me lose trust in this restaurant completely. I did not get the impression that he would be taking any action to prevent this from happening again. To their credit, the food is delicious, but this is not a safe restaurant for those with food restrictions, and not a company I want to...

Good food, confused ambiance
Our family of three was seated immediately on a Friday evening without prior reservation. Maybe we got lucky — the place was pretty nearly full. The white linen table cloth, formal place settings with cloth napkins and proper silverware was promise of a good experience. The wait staff was courteous and prompt. They were knowledgeable and were able to fill the gaps where the menu was ambiguous. The menu included an Indo-Chinese section because — well, I guess there is a clientele for that. The appetizers selection was sparse. I was surprised at the lack of pakoras which is usually a mainstay at Indian restaurants.
Bawarchi has a fairly extensive beer and wine selection. We stayed with the house wine & mango lassi. My daughter and I wanted to split a mango lassi. So I asked for an empty glass with my order. Instead they were nice enough to prepare it in two separate glasses with decorations on top — complete with a little umbrella!
The food was served in due course. The plating was tastefully done and the serving size was reasonable. We ordered 3 different dishes, had enough to eat, share and have some left over to take home. The food was cooked well, seasoned properly. I was pleased that my dish — that I requested at fully spiciness — was not just a big pile of flaming hot chili peppers as I have seen done in other restaurants. The meats were seasoned nicely and not overcooked.
The decor and ambience of the place harkened back to the previous tenants of the location — a sports bar. Although they do have a bar (probably just because it was already there) Bawarchi is mostly a restaurant. I don’t like TVs in restaurants and this place has way too many. They are distracting, conversation killers and unnecessary. My one recommendation would be replace the TVs with some themed artwork.
We will be...
