UPDATE:
Went back when I was visiting the area.
Got the small Chinese Burrito/ Ru Bing with soy sauce pork for under $5.00 + tax
It was packed with some scrambled eggs, fried You Tiao pieces / kind of twisted long shaped doughnut, stir fried bean sprout & veggies, some soy based sauce/dressing with a bit of seasoning powder.
The "tortilla" or the wrapping was like crepe's skin texture.
The small one filled me up well! The taste was a bit mild close to bland, to be honest! But somehow, I didn't mind! I kinda liked it!
I'll try to add my own sauce to it next time if I order this again.
Recommended to others who are a bit curious foodies like me 🤭🤭
While my BFF and I were in this area, we stopped by this branch to pick up a few stuffs. We were excited to see that they have a : made to order Chinese burrito 🌯 section. My BFF ordered one with pork to take home. She said it tasted okay (she forgot to take pictures though.. LOL)
They also have a behind the counter made fresh to order, bean paste filled pan cakes section!
I saw and fell in love with the way their egg tarts look, so I got all 4 that were left. I think the egg tarts were made better than at other 99 ranch market's branches!
The crust were flakier and crunchier, while the custard were baked and caramelized better as well!
Other than that, we just picked up some Tofu and a few other basic ingredients for our cooking. Had a bit of hard times finding my dried bean curd sticks from alley to alley .. finally found them on bottom shelf! In other branches, this product are placed on top shelf.
This branch was very busy on.a Sunday afternoon. It was clean and well stocked!
Plenty of free parking...
Read moreThe worst customer service you will ever receive! The clerks, cashiers, store workers, managers will not look you in the eyes when talking to you, if you ask them questions, they will ignore you unless you are Chinese, even if you are entitled to a coupon, they will not give it to you, unless you are Chinese! The most classic one is about the express lane check out. I am standing in an endless line ( which is very common in this stupid store) of express check out. I have 13 items, but most are multiples, so 3 of a kind on 4 different items and I separate one. She looks at me and mumbles in Chinese something! I am not Chinese. Do I look at her face puzzled. She is pointing at the express sign and counting my items and yelling st me in Chinese. I figured she doesn’t want to help me because of the number of items! So I gave back to her a few items. And proceeded to check out. She started counting my items again as she was running them through check out. As soon as she got to the last one she said: 11! The Indian couple behind me said to her: so what ?! Just run it! She ignored them! At this point, I said fine, I don’t need that item. So then I handed her 3-$1 dollar coupons. Mind you my total was $28.99. She returns the last one to me and says $20 2 coupons , $30 -3 coupons. Needless to say I took my stuff and walked out! But what a square brain! What an idiotic system! What disrespect to people! I hate this store and will continue to spread the word that they are horrible in...
Read moreWhat a wide variety of produce and products to choose from! Many different imported fruits/vegetables, desserts, noodles , spices, anything you can think of. They also has their own bakery with an assortment of pastries and a station for hot food. I got mochi, boba icecream, bbq pork buns, meat from the deli, and some Japanese beer. My only disappointment was I felt a bit disrespected when I had a question for the hot food station about the items on the menu , if they were to be ordered fresh or to grab the ones on the side. I’m quite obviously not of any Asian decent and don’t know the languages being spoken. There were two women working and I politely waited for them to finish their order with another women to ask them. They took notice of me but didn’t acknowledge me and even took another order of someone who had just walked up next to me ,while I waited next to the counter. At first I thought maybe they aren’t bothering because they may not know English, which is fair. Only when there was no one to did they finally ask what I needed after I waited 10 minutes, to tell me to just grab the ones on the side. I’ve never been here before, so I would not know this. As much as I want to enjoy the cultural difference, I also felt a bit excluded because of it and maybe not have been treated the same. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding. Overall I enjoyed my shopping experience here, the cashiers were very nice and I loved the quality of...
