Jacoby's Storehouse — Attraction in Arcata

This is a historic building on the plaza in arcata. Built in 1857 it and the hotel Arcata are the oldest buildings on the plaza in Arcata. During the christmas holiday they put a huge Christmas tree in the center of the building and Santa comes all the way from the Arctic Circle and visits. There is amazing detail in the woodwork and various businesses use the building. The plaza Grill is upstairs on the second floor. There are offices on the 3rd floor. I am still mystified how they get such a massive Christmas tree into such a small space. If you're feeling adventurous take the elevator, and yes, it feels like it's about to fall...

They sell your information for profit. No one ever wins the prize but telemarketers call after you play their guessing game about ornaments. I absolutely love this place but distain them for sharing/selling my information. Not cool. NOT...

Beautiful Building with many different businesses located within. Check out the toy store, its great! Also, a new restaurant has developed here at the old plaza...
