Vandergriff Skatepark — Attraction in Arlington

I've been skating this park since it opened it's like my second home. My only complaints are the littering when there is like 10 trashcans present. The parents who sit there and watch thier kids almost get knocked out by people skating when there's a nice playground and tons of open feild for running around. It is showing some wear and tear it would be nice if the city could send out a repair crew and ask the locals that skate there what they think needs fixing. Just a few minor gripes though. Regaurdless I love this park. Oh also I forgot to say but a couple of lights are burnt out and have been for a few months. It's really cool seeing tons of families teaching thier kids to skate. Then there's those super fun days where everyone there is skilled and the session is poppin. It would be cool to see some jam sessions with live music as it's a perfect venue for that. Medium sized skatepark that needs some TLC from the maintenance department. Great layout - and I love the snake feature. The pool is wide and has two sections inside (nice!) but there was a lot of trash / debris inside making half of it unusable. The snake section is tight and smooth, but the end had a lot of dirt / trash / tree debris. There's a covered sitting area right next to the skate area, which is a great feature for people to watch / chill. Skaters of all levels would enjoy this park, but the main draws for intermediate and expert skaters are needing...

Well rounded skatepark, when the bowl is dry. After heavy rain the bowl is unusable as it leaks through the cracks and it grows moss, making it slippery. The street park is awesome it has a Euro gap and a double set of stairs. The slalom is smooth, just make sure to clear it before you go full speed and get taken out by a acorn or leaves from the tree right next to it. It is open until midnight, meaning the lights are on until midnight for those late night sessions in peace. Good enough for Ribs Man, good...
