I've done several of Conundrum's clever escape rooms now-- and they are addicting! The rooms are all well crafted, smart, intriguing, creative, and fun. Conundrum escape rooms make an amazing activity for friends or family that come into town, or when you just need a special activity. The craftsmanship is good and the puzzles are unique. There are locks and combinations, but not too many, there's a good mixture of solutions and contraptions. Our all time favorite host/game master is Jay, his passion and dedicated role playing brings the game to a whole other level. I have to admit, I always hope to show up when Jay is working. This most recent game, we had Alistor for our host/game master, and they were really good too! Alistor did a great job of keeping us on track and little bits of guidance just when needed. They also did a phenomenal job juggling 2 different games at the same time while still providing a seamless experience for us. I would highly highly recommend Jay or Alistor for your host. Specifically this game we played C73. We were intimidated by the supposed difficulty, but the puzzles themselves weren't actually that complicated, it was all about teamwork and quick and precise communication! Very fun and engaging room with some clever twists and turns. I actually enjoyed that many of the puzzles in this room were somewhat ordered, my very minor complaint that I have about the conundrum rooms I've done is I often waste time solving puzzles for things I've already opened/completed. Otherwise though, Conundrum puzzles tickle my brain just perfectly, not too technical but not too...
Read moreOur experience at this escape room was unfortunately unpleasant. When we entered the room, two of the puzzles were already solved and open. This created confusion, as we spent time trying to solve puzzles that had already been completed, only to inadvertently skip ahead to the second-to-last puzzle right at the beginning. After some time, the staff finally informed us that we weren’t supposed to have access to those puzzle pieces yet.
We felt that we should have been given extra time to compensate for this mistake, but the staff declined. While we found that frustrating, we understood their decision. Fast forward to the end of our session: we ran out of time with just one puzzle left to solve. While disappointing, running out of time isn’t new to us and has happened before.
What really upset us, however, was that the staff refused to let us see the final puzzle or the ending.
Given their high rating, this could have been a one-off issue. Still, it was an unpleasant experience for my group and me.
Update: They reached out and invited us back, apologizing for our previous experience. They provided a thorough explanation of what happened and are making an effort to make things right. I’m impressed with how they handled the situation. We’ll be returning, and I’ll update my review after...
Read moreWe recently played our 35th escape room Path of the Gods and it was one of the hardest but coolest ones we've ever done. This room was not linear which meant we were able to split up and work on seperate things. Because of this we were able to escape with time to spare. The room was incredibly detailed and even the flashlights matched the era so it felt more like a movie set than an escape room. Our Game Master Avery was incredible. He gave us a great briefing and some tips before entering the room which helped us immensely! When we were stuck he offered simple guidance that helped us get back on track. He genuinely seems like he loves his job and it was fun to see him in character before and after the game. The building was clean and we had a great experience start to finish. I would not recommend this particular room to someone doing their first escape room as it was difficult for us; however, they have several other rooms with differing difficulty levels so this place is perfect for beginners, experienced players and everyone in-between!...
