I love this park and have been coming here for many years to walk or rollerblade. Recently I’ve been dealing with health issues so I sometimes go and sit in my car and see if I have the strength to go for a walk. Sometimes I just sit in the grass and stretch. There is a man who is there almost everyday this summer (2025). He comes and parks next to me and will blast past trance music very very loud, in an attempt to get me to move, which I did. Next time he comes up to my car , knocking on the window, blasting a porn movie on his phone and blasting it on a blue tooth speaker, asking me if I want to have sex with him. Telling me he wants to use my car as a table and was getting ready to sit on the roof of my car. He will only approach women, he will not harass men. The police won’t do anything he continues to camp out at the park. He keeps his. cats there and comes backs to feed them. that’s why I believe he is particular about his parking spot next to the fence He drives an old green and grey beat up Toyota sienna mini van, with Tenn license plate,he’s short bald stalky and has a Russian accent. Female identifying folks please be careful of this person when visiting the park. Unfortunately I will no longer go to this park for...

There is also homeless activity, of course, but when I went up there it looked pretty clear.
And if you look across the water from here, you can see the roofline of the...
Read moreParked here to ride my bike along the French Broad Greenway. Nice spot to park at the south end of the greenway, not a lot of parking so get there early. If you’re looking for a picnic spot there are several more places along the greenway that would be more comfortable.
If cycling do not expect to do your top speed. The greenway is a nice place with a lot of walkers who will appreciate your patience in getting around them and letting them know audibly that you are...
