Less than a week before moving to TN for a new job, I was told that I had to furnish the house I was staying in myself, which was a big surprise. I was heading through asheville anyway to see a friend so on a whim checked out the regeneration station for a bed and wished I could've taken the whole store with me to TN. My bed was good quality (I'm chillin in it now writing this and it's awesome!), professionally cleaned, and very inexpensive, considering I got a box spring with it. Besides the beds the store was full of really cool furniture that was very uniquely designed and 'regenerated'. Unfortunately I was just in my little SUV which could barely hold the mattress and box spring I got so I had to just sigh and kick myself for not renting a Uhaul. So while Tyler (the guy that works there) and I were putting the box spring on my car, I accidentally mashed the lock doors button,...and of course my only set of keys were in my car. I was alone and the friend I was visiting was at work, oh and my phone was in my car. Great right? Well Tyler, bless his heart, lent his phone to me for what must've come out to be about an hour so that I could call AAA and call my dad for the password and all of the shenanigans involved with locking your keys in your car. He even lent me the ratchets to put the bed on my car when my bungee cords went missing and offered to get me lunch (I declined because I felt like I hassled him quite enough for a day but appreciated the offer). At the end of the day, what matters for this review is that the people there are awesome, the products are unique and good quality, and it was an overall excellent experience (despite...

So, I'm giving 4 stars because there are different aspects that range between 3 and 5. I'll start with 5 stars for the staff's helpfulness when I went on one of my customer's recommendations to find a used door in good condition that was super cheap in their back salvage area. That was a find and the gentleman from the front desk who helped me out took the time to walk back there with me and help me dig it out and confirm its price.

So, the 3 stars is about the prices on most of the booth items and furniture. I recognize a lot of it as pieces I've seen from relatives homes that were common in the 70s and 80s and I'm sure some of the other pieces were from other decades around then. While there is a ton of cool vintage items to look at, you'd have to be wealthy and nostalgic to actually shop here for that kind of thing. I did go here and browse with a date for a long time, so bonus points for giving us a cool place to walk, talk, and look at things, but I don't know if I'd ever buy from the booths here.

Bottom Line - This is not a thrift store if someone told you that. Its kind of a nostalgic antique sort of place and you need to have the same money to shop here as if you were going to a...

Based on reading the previous review, it looks like Tyler is just an all around good Sumartian! I was reccomended to the Regeneration Station by my roommate who had a really positive experience there. So, I went with $150 in my pocket and left with a full sized mattress, box spring, & frame...all professionally cleaned and sold by the coolest of folks! I neglected to bring any ratchet straps with me to secure the bed to my truck and ended up with my new matress set scattered on the road...10 minutes before closing time and maybe 20 before Tyler's "Hot Date". :) "What happened next?" You ask. Well, Tyler drove down to where I was, put his date on hold and lent me two of his personal ratchet straps. Then helped me get the bed secured so I could make it home alright. This kindness and personal connection is why I moved to Asheville and is wholeheartedly embodied by the regeneration station and all those who work to make it function. I could go on and on about the amazing affordable selection of unique and vintage furnishings but, in my opinion, finding this level of dedication and humanity is really what sets this place apart!! You will not be dissapointed. This place is where...

The Regeneration Station calls itself 36,000 square feet of repurposed treasure and the name suits it. It's basically a big open warehouse with different booths for different vendors. There is some of the most random stuff in there - everything from vintage clothes and records to books and trucker hats to tools to art to furniture. And the stuff is always changing as they get new things in. If the saying "one person's trash is another person's treasure" sounds good to you then you've definitely got to check this place out. There's things in there for all kinds of budgets. You can try to price haggle for things over $100 bucks but not for things under $100. All sales are final and the staff is nice and friendly! Cool store but be sure to budget more time than you think you'll need or want in there cause the place will suck you in!

I will post more photos after I go back. Imagine the inside of the WNC farmers market building, but much larger with labeled sections. Each section has its own unique artist or vendor boasting furniture, collectibles, artwork, decor and much more. The space itself is vibrant and a perfect place to cool off from the heat to walk around. This is definitely the place to look for non-traditional items to funkify your interior design. For reference, I am a mustard yellow rug, green velvet chair with a lava lamp kinda vibe. They also have elegant, classier items too. There's no inventory list online, you just have to go see yourself!

When I first visited Asheville, I was pointed towards TRS when I was looking for a place to find secondhand clothes and just have a fun thrifting day. Since then, TRS has become one of my go-to spots for shopping! I've gotten countless pieces of clothing, a fabulous bench, an amazing pink tweed armchair (that they helped me load!) and gifts for friends and family. I definitely recommend shopping here - come with a find in mind and have fun searching or just roam the vendor booths to find what speaks to you. Adam and the staff, like Forrest and Helena, are always able to point you in the right direction for an amazing find!
