This was, quite simply, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.
We did a to-go order: two chicken dishes, dumplings, edamame.
I paid for and picked up the food, then went home.
When we opened the bag, we were surprised to find two beef dishes inside. We tried to just deal with it and took a bite or two, but the beef was... it's hard to describe. The texture was WAY off. It was mealy, mushy and had no flavor. It did not seem like actual beef. It was completely inedible. The texture was off so bad that it made me gag.
The other items weren't much better; the dumplings were raw in the middle and the edamame was also mushy, like it had been sitting in water all day. The 'miso' soup was basically just some cheap (what tasted like) beef broth.
Look - we really tried to make it work with this food, but it was completely inedible, so I called the store back.
The lady that answered told me that she had to talk to her boss and she would call me back.
I got a call back from a male, who seemed to be speaking to the owner in the background and translating for her.
He said, "she says she definitely gave you chicken, you eat the chicken and don't call back," and then hung up on me.
Folks, I have never been called a liar by a restaurant in my life. I attempted to text a picture of my receipt and food back to the restaurant in an effort to get some sort of refund, but they blocked my number.
After calling me a liar, they blocked my number.
So yeah, I drove all the way back and showed them the food AND my receipt.
The owner kept insisting that I let her re-make the food, but by that point it was over. I insisted on a full refund, and they obliged. I also explained to the server that this was the poorest service I had received in quite some time. You simply don't call your customers liars when you have made such a huge screw-up. Just own it, apologize and try to make it right!
This place has lost my business forever, and honestly after the low quality food we received, I believe there are some unsafe practices happening in that kitchen.
Use extreme caution if you plan to dine here, and if there is any problem with your order, you can expect to be labelled as a liar and...
Read moreDec 3 edit, this had easily been a 5 star review and I wish I could have kept it that way however the last couple of times we went the shrimp was just so dirty it was in edible. Sure we can order other items which we have had no problems with but we like shrimp!
We “discovered” Udon about 2 months ago and it’s been our go restaurant for Asian meals ever since. Sushi/sashimi is fresh with large slices of fish. Their udon and other noodle dishes are perfectly cooked and their tempura is exactly as it should be, crispy, not oily with a light batter. We haven’t tried their teriyaki or habachi dinners yet since we just keep going back to what we know and love. But based on what we have tried I’m pretty sure that their other food will be just as good. It’s a little hard to find, in the shopping mall off Bleachery in a row of other small shops/restaurants. But once you’ve been there once you’ll have no problem. I’ve always ordered by phone and sometimes the person answering has a hard time finding the items on their app, so I probably should make more of an effort to order online. So glad we found Udon. 5 minutes from our house and great food! By the way, we always have enough leftovers for lunch...
Read moreustomer who was served the same tea after us, also said the soup was bad, and left seeming very irritated. Another guy sat there without even getting a drink through the whole time. It wasn’t even busy. 3 tables. My husbands food was awful after waiting forever. Then got my check which was $36. I go pay and she ran my card for $56. I barely caught it. So then they argue about how to fix it. Then charged me $41. To which I asked why my credit card was charged more than my ticket was for the second time. Was told that they hadn’t put the edamame on the ticket. I was like oh the edamame that didn’t come out until I finished eating. The woman couldn’t speak any basic English and kept asking me to speak into her phone. I finally got so fed up and was like just charge my card the $41 bc I was so fed up. I just wanted to leave. One of the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I personally believe I shouldn’t have been charge for anything other than my roll. That was the only thing that was really ate. Save yourself a terrible experience and...
