I have been a very satisfied Ashley customer since my first online purchase in 2019. I needed to furnish a tiny guest bedroom in a tiny mountaintop house. I found the perfect set online. It was delivered via the treacherous one lane gravel road to my house. No problem at all for the delivery team. It arrived in perfect condition and was expertly assembled.
Fast forward to December 2022. I sold that house completely furnished and moved closer in to town. It was time to do some major furniture shopping.
I am one of those customers who spends hours researching online before buying. My search led me back to Ashley. I found a perfect bedroom set. I also found Ashley’s Texline Dual Power Recliner in gray leather. I would never have believed a recliner could look so incredibly cool. So I bought three of them to set up a home theater in my basement.
Since this was a large purchase, I wanted to have a look at these items in the store. I was graciously greeted by Grace Green. Grace showed me the pieces I had selected. She was very knowledgeable regarding the products. I noticed that the prices in the store were slightly higher and Grace immediately informed me that she would price match. Needless to say the sale was made.
The process of the computer work was tedious as she had to go through item by item, including the 5 year protection plan for the power recliners and the delivery charges, in order to lower the prices. She quickly and efficiently completed this task. When her work was complete the total cost was just under the total that I would have spent if I had ordered online.
Even better, the delivery time for ordering in-store was significantly shorter. Everything was once again delivered in pristine condition and perfectly assembled. Those recliners weigh 186 pounds each. No problem for the delivery team again.
The only question with which I was left was why there was a difference in price between online and in-store. I was to learn the answer to that question when I returned to Ashley to purchase a bookcase today.
Exactly as before, I spent hours online looking for a large bookcase that fit my space and decor. Only Ashley had what I was looking for.
Returning to the store today I was greeted by Reese Stoffo. I showed him the piece I had selected and he immediately recognized it and led me to the display on the showroom floor. Demonstrating thorough product knowledge, Reese showed me other bookcase options in the Starmore collection. I chose to purchase the larger piece.
I noticed as before a slightly higher price displayed in-store. Reese explained the corporate structure of Ashley which consists of its online shopping site, corporately owned stores, and franchised stores. This young man really knows that of which he speaks.
And just as before, Reese cheerfully informed me that he would arrange for the online price to be matched. And again the delivery time was much faster than what was offered online; one week as opposed to three weeks.
While Reese was inputing the order I began a conversation with one of the management team. Alicia Syms was also a wealth of knowledge.
Each of my experiences with Grace, Reese, and Alicia was perfectly professional and customer centric. After completing the purchase I stayed looking at other items in the store just for the fun of it. I am a bit of a furniture fanatic and Reese and Alicia obviously share my enthusiasm.
I certainly recommend Ashley as a furniture store. But I even more highly recommend and appreciate the in-store experience provided courtesy of Grace,...
Read moreMy customer experience at Ashley was surreal. I say that from an experienced perspective. I was the lead regional Customer Service Rep for a network of hospitals in NC, VA, and WV. Also, I don't part easily with discretionary funds and am very weary of people who are schooled in masterful manipulation. All to say, I entered Ashley with every intention of masterfully alluding the awaiting sales hawk. So... as he approached me - his commission prey - with outstretched hand for shaking, before he could even introduce himself, I started into my script - "I'm just looking, don't intend to buy today, ..." He listened carefully and made eye connection and nodded his head in an act of respectful understanding but then, boom, he paraphrased back my intention - looking but not buying, not buying today anyway... Then he said kindly, while walking beside me, "if you want me to guide you to what you may be looking for tell me what you're thinking about and what type of space you're in and maybe I could help." What I heard and felt was - he comes in peace, he is more interested in my desires and needs then ensuring that I know his name and how long he's been with Ashley or selling furniture, or how many children he's working to feed... Before I knew what had happened - but certainly in no rush - we'd picked out my new living room furniture that was not exactly what I'd been looking for initially, because he had informed my choices by offering his professional experience about manufacturing, cost, risk, etc... In addition, he sold me a chair that was not - at the moment - available in the show room! He showed me a chair that matched my new sectional that had the features I wanted. But he didn't stop there. He patiently walked me around the showroom to chairs that i could see and touch that shared attributes of the chair he showed me online that was closer to my price point then what was currently available in the showroom. What he DIDN'T sell me was a matching oversized ottoman because he'd listened to me say that I didn't want furniture to overwhelm my space. He suggested that instead of purchasing it today, I wait until I can get a feel for how the sectional works in my space and then if I think it would work, come back and I'd still get the benefits of my purchase incentives applied today. WTF? Are you kidding me? This guy is legit! He's now a friend w a sales habit or a very stupid sales preditor. OK then, now that I had a new friend and ally, I reveal that I'd also consider a counter height table and chair set on sale that I'd seen.... Very long story abbreviated, now that all decisions had been made he was back at his computer to document our negotiated sales. I waited for him to excuse himself to go talk to the wizard in management empowered to approve negotiations (often from behind a silk curtain or upstairs behind security cameras). But, it didn't happen. The deals were done, a delivery date was set (sooner than I expected but greatly appreciate). The experience was other worldly. Surreal. Oh yeah, what is your name my new friend? Keith Flynn, he said, without a trace of ego. What planet had I visited? When can I visit again? ...
Read moreWe were assisted by Keith. I am not exaggerating when I say this man was overqualified to be there! How blessed Ashley's is to have this person. If you are looking for furniture and want assistance from an individual who will genuinely "hear" what you are looking for and do everything in their power to help you find that perfect piece of furniture then Keith is your man. He helped my husband & I to find treasures that we didn't know Ashley's had! He was never pushy nor arrogant. If you are looking for someone who will help you in a genuinely kind & professional manner...then go to Ashley's off of Tunnel Road to find a wonderful selection of furniture and ask for Keith. You'll be happy you did! We are definitely satisfied customers!!!

Furniture was delivered. They never removed tags from furniture (we had lots of furniture). Asked them to move a sofa to a diff place in room and they huffed and puffed about it. The delivery ppl also caused a gash in our front door frame. Some of the dining room chairs were chipped. They did send new backs. Still, 6 months later, have not come out to put them together nor offered to fix the damage to our door. Tried calling store in Asheville NC and even speak to our sales person. No response...just crickets. Very disappointed with the delivery and aftercare we have or rather have not received. Great to get you to buy...but after that, apparently you're...
