I bought a floor sample because I thought it was a reasonable price and I could get the couch and chair right away instead of the five weeks the salesman told me it would be for a brand new sofa and chair. The salesman told me a new sofa and chair would end up being the same price as the floor sample because they were starting a sale the next day. I opted for the floor sample because the only flaw was a tiny, barely noticeable scratch on the arm. The sofa and chair were delivered, and the sofa had a hole where the two pieces connected together. It looked like the points sticking out on the one side punctured the other side. This part of the couch was not visible while it was on the showroom floor. I even bought the protection plan that allows for the replacement of the couch. I sent the picture of the hole in the couch to Haverty's customer service and was given the option of cancelling the whole transaction or exchanging the couch for a new one for the regular price so I would have to give them additional money. They told me they had two of the couches at their warehouse. Hmmmm I was told that to get a new one it would be five weeks. I only had the couch for a week! I guess the new couch availability was misrepresented. Haverty's did not have the customer service acumen to offer me the couch at the sale price, which was the same as the floor sample price. I Was very pleased from the moment that I walked in, I was greeted promptly and directed to the sales person whom I had spoken to on the phone.John Howren who is a very good salesman and knows his products, John guided me thru 15 plus recliners, I was informed on each one and the differences between each one we had looked at. John was never pushy and let me make my own informed decision. The recliner I loved and purchased was not in stock in the color I wanted so I had it ordered and I picked it up the next Friday Morning. ( I was shopping on Sunday) Through the whole process it was smooth sailing and no issues, glitches or hangups (As it should be) John was great and I ended up meeting several other Staff Members while I was there and everyone was pleasant and nice. A big shout out to the Crew at Haverty"s Thank You for an Awesome buying experience and I will be back! When it came time to purchase new living room furniture for our home we wanted to be wise with our money and make quality a higher priority. After asking friends and family about their furniture purchases we decided to shop at Havertys first. Wow. We have been missing out! The store is well-organized and clean. Margaret Silver greeted us and welcomed us to the store, but did not come across like a pushy salesman ... we so appreciated that! She was available for questions and helped educated us so that we could make the best decision for our family. We settled on 4 pieces of furniture for our living room (a 7' sofa, a coordinating chair, a wingback style arm chair, and a fabric storage ottoman). We spent around $7-8K on the pieces which was much more than we have spent on furniture in the past, bust still less than more expensive retailers. We've had the furniture in our home for a few months now and absolutely love it! Where our former furniture pieces would have already been breaking by now, these Havertys pieces look and feel new still!
