Very intense hike with lots of potential to twist an ankle, slip & fall, or etc. It takes hoursss to complete with full gear & water supply & when you get to the "waterfall" you'll find that there is no waterfall anymore 😁😄😂🤣 -Don't waste your time or energy... -Climbing down & back up the rock cliff stairs & switch backs & winding paths makes you feel like you're dying, in the moment, & then, days later, you'll find you're so sore you can barely walk as if you did lunges for an hour... -because you basically did... on the side of a mountain... uneven lunges... up & down... -trying to get to a non existent waterfall. -Just go to the overlook, instead, in your car, & follow the boardwalk path down to the observation area, to see for yourself... -The hike is unnecessarily strenuous & there's no...

Absolutely amazing trail! We tracked it at exactly 2 miles, not including climbing around at the waterfall. VERY well marked. Trailhead is behind the Lodge- there's a small covered walkway that takes you to an overlook and the trailhead is on the left. Starts off with a fairly steep decline down rocky steps into the canyon then crosses a bridge and follows the creek about a half mile to the waterfall. Beautiful the entire way! And the waterfall was absolutely gorgeous. You can climb up closer to it along the walls of the canyon but be careful, it is steep and slippery! There are rocks for you to grab on to along the way if needed, but not for inexperienced hikers. There's plenty more spots to enjoy the waterfall though! Took about two hours, with about 45 min just...

Cedar Falls was one of the best waterfalls I have seen in quite some time! This is definitely the gem of Petit Jean State Park. The falls themselves are amazing. We went right after a heavy rain and the waterfall was flowing fully! The creek was running great and made for some awesome shots along the way. We spent around an hour and a half at the falls but we could have spent more shooting it. It is a very picturesque area and it is even cooler to go see the view from the Cedar Falls overlook after you have hiked down to the bottom of the falls. The hike in is very easy as it is all downhill. The hike back up can be a little strenuous especially if you are not acclimated to hiking. Overall it is not a bad hike at all and totally worth it for the views...

Cedar Falls Trailhead is 2-miles of strenuous hiking. Bring good shoes with grip and plenty of water. The first section of trail is steep switch backs with steep rock steps down to the water. The second section is moderate with plenty of rocks to step on or over. The last section is rock scrambling to get to the falls. Do not get in the water. All water in this park is run off. My group hustled and made the out and back trail in under an hour. More leisurely hike can easily take 2 hours. Especially the last climb out, leg burner!! All in all totally worth the effort to see the magnificent falls and the grand scale of the rock formations from below.
