We read great reviews for Jennifer R and I decided to schedule a Father's Day grooming for my husband. He loved it so much he decided to go back, because she did a great job the first time. We then decided to try her out for the buddy cut for our son and she had missed areas in his head and my husband was disappointed, because his male friends pointed it out to him. Let me preface this by saying this appointment was rescheduled also, because she was apparently off that day, and they wanted us to be with another barber, when we schedule the appointment with her. We brushed the missed marks in the haircut and the rescheduling under the rug, because my son enjoyed going to her outside of any other barber that first time. We decided to schedule his back to school haircut and when we arrived they told us they texted us and rescheduled with another barber, because apparently she was sick. We didn't want to be with another barber because my son really took a liking to Jennifer as I mentioned before. When we arrived at the newly scheduled appointment she was not there when we arrived, she was 10 minutes late. When we walked back she proceeds to tell me that she is a manager of other locations and they have her schedule crazy that is why she missed the last appointment. I said, "oh they told me you were sick", she said "oh yeah well I was sick that time". Red flag, because now this sounds like a lie. When she was cutting my son's hair, I was there watching the entire time and he did great in my opinion being he is a 6 years old child. We left and when we got to the car, she immediately called and told me to bring my son back when he is older because he doesn't know how to sit still in the chair. She then said that she doesn't know if he was traumatized by another barber, because he acts scared. So how it goes from he can't sit still to being traumatized by another barber? He is 6. This is far from the truth and it was disheartening to hear. Of course he was shrugging his shoulders every now and then when she would spray or cut his hair but not too much where she couldn't finish nor did it interrupt the process. It took her 30 min to cut and wash his hair, which is a typically haircut time. We will not be going back even when he is older and we will not be referring people to this location let alone the franchise if she manages other locations. They should remove buddy cuts from the list of services if the barbers are not equipped professionally to deal with children that actually really liked them. Not to mention, it is too expensive to deal with the scheduling...
Read moreAs someone who is always on the hunt for the ultimate barber experience, I've been fortunate to discover a few standout places that truly elevate the craft. Two of my all-time favorites are the Venetian Canyon Ranch and Spa in Las Vegas and The New York Shaving Company in Manhattanâboth icons of barbering excellence. These establishments perfectly embody the artistry and tradition of barbering, delivering not just a haircut or shave but a full sensory experience that feels like a step back into a time when grooming was an art form.
Here in Georgia, I've found that this level of attention to detail and mastery is often missingâuntil I visited Boardroom Styling Lounge - Madison Yards. My experience there was nothing short of exceptional. I opted for the full-service treatment, complete with a straight razor shave and a hot towel service. The craftsmanship and care were on par with the best barbershops I've visited across the country.
A special shoutout to Rodney, whose 20+ years of experience in the barbering world were evident in every precise movement. From the way he handled the razor to the way he personalized the service, Rodney exemplifies what the barber culture should beâa celebration of skill, tradition, and human connection. His execution reminded me of how barbering is more than just a profession; itâs an art form that deserves respect and preservation.
If youâre someone who values a truly refined barbering experience, where every detail is carefully thought out, I highly recommend giving Boardroom Styling Lounge a try. Itâs a rare gem in Georgia that fills the void in a state where the richness of barber culture often seems overlooked. Iâll definitely be returningâand I encourage anyone who appreciates the artistry of grooming to check...
Read more*used to be a five star review Showed up for my booked appointment with Jennifer only to be told she wasnât there. Apparently she got a promotion and no one bothered to let me know with a call, text, or email. Wasted my time coming only to be told Iâd have to go with someone different but they also didnât have time as I was given wrong instructions for my second appointment. A stylist isnât like a checkout lane at the grocery store, it matters who you go to. Not going to just start from square one with a stylist I donât know anything about especially not after such unprofessional poor service.
This was my first visit and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. I have to start by saying I am extremely picky and selective when it comes to my hair. I had a long term stylist that moved elsewhere last year and I've gone through 6 stylists in search of one that could take care of me as I expect.
Great setup, greeted with a beer, a comfortable environment to wait with good music, and a bit of pool as I waited. Jennifer was wonderful, she made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. She took the time to really understand what I was looking for and provided great suggestions. By the end I had the best haircut I've had in at least a year. The hot towels, wax hand dip, facial, massaging and all made it such a relaxing getaway.
Most definitely found my new spot, barber and gonna sign up for a membership on...
