I signed up for the New client 4 pack because I wanted to try it out before I got the membership. By the 2nd visit I decided to get a membership. I booked my 4th class this past Wednesday. It was a thunderstorm and my lights went out. I couldn’t get out of the gate at my townhouse. I called Solidcore to let them know because I wanted to reschedule my class for another day this week. I was told that because I got the 4 pack for such a good deal and that it would be a loss of revenue for the company to get a cancellation exemption for my last class in the 4 pack. They told me because of policy that they are really strict with the new client 4 pack. I asked to speak to a manager and I was told “Oh the manager is going to say the same thing”. I said that’s fine because I just still wanted to express my issue. The rep that I spoke with stated that he would have the manager call me back. About 8 minutes later the same rep called me back and stated that manager stated that there was nothing that they could do because I got such a good deal and it would be a loss of revenue to the company. I am a business owner myself. In no way shape or form would I have said that to a customer. The conversation was so unprofessional. I’m not saying the customer is always right but I literally could not exit my gate because of this storm and I tried because I would rather be somewhere that has lights to be somewhere that didn’t. It really turned me off and I have decided not to go ahead with my committed membership because the customer service was terrible and demeaning. I hope that the rep gets a proper coaching call and understands it’s just some things that shouldn’t be said to a customer on the phone. I really wanted this to work out but I practice and do great customer service. I cannot see myself patronizing a company...
Read moreI had been coming here on and off for a while and had a great coach for a a while unfortunately they shut down from governors orders earlier this year and that coach is no longer with the group but I found a few other coaches that were cool. I decided to try a few other gyms in the area but ultimately I'm going to come back to solid core to supplement my own workouts.
Class is always challenging, I do wish modifications were more easily accessible, I have a bum shoulder so I try and tough it out but sometimes have to rest it during core and I've had multiple knee and ankle surgeries so I just rest a a bit since there aren't a lot of alts. But all in all, I always get in great shape when I go consistently.
Not to mention, the gym was always clean BEFORE Covid - having everyone wipe the machines when they're done...now they've just increased the cleanliness...and no one stares when I decide to clean a little extra and they're not stingy with the the wipes :)
Moreover - this gym has done quite a bit from a social justice perspective and they did it before its was 'cool' or expected. I've also never felt out of place or singled out as a black woman like I have at other gyms. The other thing I've noticed is that its always felt inclusive for men, women, lgbtq and open to all lifestyles, ages, and no matter what stage of "fit" you are, no one is treated differently.
This is just my experience, I hope others have...
