Running along Proctor Creek between an area near Boyd Elementary School and the Bankhead MARTA Station Station, this trail transits south of Westside Park through open space that accommodates Bellwood Quarry and the neighboring electrical substation. The watershed and marshlands through woodlands is a beautiful green space that is unfortunately full of trash and in need of reclamation. But the path offers some scenic beauty away from traffic even if it’s full of the infrastructure that supports our city. It’s a great place to walk and cycle if if it isn’t always the most scenic. Read moreI've been doing this hike fairly often for last 2 years... the amount of trash in the river and recent construction cutting half the tree coverage are by far the worst parts about the "Greenway". It was much nicer to look over the trash/debris in creek when you were able to walk through tree coverage and feel surrounded by nature but now half the trail is clear cut due to what appears to be a new power sub station being built in the area - as well as some of the construction around Westside Park.
