Colony Farms — Attraction in Auburn

Do not trust - in spite of coming in and pre ordering with a deposit and then being assured by the manager that I was good after driving there - showed up only to have them realizing that they didn’t have what I had PRE ORDERED and without saying that it wasn’t available- attempted to switch it to something else that was more expensive ( again without ever saying anything or owning up to their mistake). What was supposed to be about $40 was now $100. When I questioned it they realized they were caught in a lie - just made poor excuses like “well you should have bought it then” (ah why I came in to PRE ORDER!!!) There are lots of other places that sell quality seafood and always try to support a small guy - dishonesty is what you can expect from Colony. A small local fish market. It has a large tank of lobster( call ahead to have steamed). They have your white fish like cod and haddock, also salmon, swordfish among others. They offer frozen fish and shrimp I believe. Lottery is also available at this store In season vegetables are hit and miss. There are also condiments stocked. I would give 5 stars but portions are large and when requesting a piece of swordfish cut in half was told cant be done. The piece was 3 servings at least and would have gone to waste. Not a pleasant experience at all. Moment I walked in, girl at the counter looked at me funny but I just ignored it. Fast forward to my purchase and she doesn’t give me my change and I have to tell her. She then proceeds to try and give me all pennies as my change despite having other coins in the drawer. Not to mention, she did all of this incredibly slow. If this isn’t family run, I don’t see why she’s a counter person. If it’s family run, I guess you’re taking the L with her as...
