Update/amendment/reply to owners response. I will update my review by saying that while they didn’t violate Hippa, they did share client info and I have proof of that. While I did have to cancel due to my friend being sick an hour before, when I INITIALLY made the booking BY PHONE(never once visited the website), there was NO MENTION OF CANCELLATION FEES OR POLICIES. However, circumstances changed, and when I reached out to AUSTIN URBAN RETREAT by phone to discuss RESCHEDULING, they again did not inform me about a cost to reschedule/cancel. I also received no invoice/notification that I was being charged the FULL amount of services. When I expressed my concerns about not being informed about the charges they were unhelpful and unsympathetic. Then I felt I was FORCED to reschedule in order not to lose out on the full cost of services. As a customer, I believe it is the responsibility of the business to be transparent about their policies and fees, especially if they can significantly impact the customers experience. By failing to disclose the rescheduling/cancellation fee during the booking process (via phone), Austin Urban Retreat exhibited poor communication and lack of integrity. I would advise looking for alternative options that prioritize transparency and customer service.

This is my update after I spoke with the owner (Tammy). It was yet ANOTHER horrible experience. First let me say she didn’t call me the next day like I was told, but rather I had to call her. The front desk, Summer, asked for my cell AGAIN, even though I had given it to her previously. When I asked Summer to confirm this she became very rude and hung up on me. The owner then called me from her personal cell, on block, (knowing it won’t be recorded) as all phone conversations on the business phones are recorded, then she proceeded to be EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL as soon as I answered. She raised her voice, cut me off multiple times, and was more focused on how to educate me on customer service than actually providing any customer service. She was also very bothered by my previous 1 star review and yelled about how much it hurts her business and threatened to have it removed. I actually had every intention of either editing or removing the review pending the outcome to which she thought I couldn’t (you can), but I won’t, due to how unprofessional she was on the phone. She also tried to intimidate me by saying she has my phone conversation recorded where I was upset. GOOD! Everything I said over the phone is what I put in my review. I didn’t badger or degrade anyone, unlike the way she spoke to me when she THOUGHT nothing was being recorded. I’ve decided to do this review because this is the real deal. I came in for the first time feeling old, discouraged and emotional at 50 yrs old. I was greeted by the young lady in the front office very sweet and very helpful. I needed guidance to what treatment to get for my face. The young lady set me up with the injector Brittney. She said that Brittney was very knowledgeable and she would guide me to what treatment would be best for me. . I was a little skeptical since there are so many places out there that promise you the world and do nothing but take your money. I’m excited to say that this place is a little piece of heaven. Brittney was so understanding into what I was asking for she set me up with the dysport treatment. I had the 11s very pronounced on my forehead, and my eyebrows were looking sad and droopy. Within that week the 11s started to dissipate. My eyes were looking more opened and alive. I was getting migraines but after this treatment I have no headaches not sure why but it doesn’t matter because I feel great. I am looking young again my face looks more refreshed. People ask me what am I doing because I look much more younger. I refer everyone to come and see Brittney. I am not used to putting out reviews but this actually needs to have more than five stars because just like me I know there’s so many women out there that are skeptical as well, so yes, I will recommend anyone to come out here let Brittney do what she does best give you hope again. Full version: Where do I even begin? I was having one of those days and knew I just needed to relax and treat myself. It was last minute, so I didn't have a lot of confidence anyone would have availability, but when I came across Austin Urban Retreat on Google, I gave them a call anyway. They were able to get me in within half an hour for a massage and facial. The facility is beautiful and so well managed and designed. Then I went into my massage with Trey and cannot say enough good things about him. I felt so relaxed and comfortable the entire time. The perfect balance of quiet and conversation, plus he really helped ease some pain I have been experiencing in my hand. After being fully relaxed from my massage, I was given a robe and sandals to wear in the transition of going to my facial. They have a great couch area for while you wait. Shortly after, Breeana came to get me for my facial. She is so fun and we talked the entire time (which my extrovert self loved, but she also made sure to give me time to quietly relax when I wanted to)! Not only was in a fun experience, but she is so knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and helped me walk away with a better understanding and offered some great products without making me feel like that was her only motivation (like some other companies).
