I have 2 dogs that I like to walk at least once a day and sometimes twice a day. Our second walk for the day was at Brentwood Park. It's in the neighborhood and very convenient. They provide many garbage receptacles and doggie bags/doggie dumpsters. I usually enjoy this place and walking my dogs here. Today, it was exceptionally crowded (it was a beautiful day) and there were just too many dogs off leash for my comfort. I chose to give my visit today a rating of only 3. 😕

Normally there are a few dogs off leash and I've come to expect that at Brentwood Park. That said, my dogs do not react well to some dogs and I'm always fearful of what could happen. Especially when there are so many people in close proximity, including...

2/2024: don't count on a public restroom! The one by the pool has been intermittently closed and/ or disgusting.

I certainly approve of the newish big kid bumpy slide with tower -- and the rope structure to climb, and other accoutrements.

I wish they'd add a splash pad! There's already a pool there after all... And the restroom and water fountains could use some attention (still true in 2025). But we like this park, including but not limited to the playground.

I have been attacked by fire ants there but I don't hold it against the park! And the revamped school building looks nice. We're fans of the open spaces, etc. Fun with...

Great, well maintained neighborhood park. Playground, tennis courts, basketball half court, baseball/soccer/etc... space. There's also a few frisbee golf goals. Pubic pool open in the summer. Just an all around nice place to go and grab some fresh air or get a little exercise. There's also a path all the way around the edge, and after dark lighting.

Only thing I would watch out for: people let their dogs off leash by the dozens. It can be a free for all at times and this is NOT an off leash park. Lots of folks assume that they know your dogs better than you do and will let their pets run around unsupervised. It's not... horrible...but can be very stressful for owners of...

Brentwood Park, just sent to the grade school, is an amazing local resource. There are a couple of tennis courts that people sometimes use for Pickleball as well, a sand volleyball court, a pool, and a basketball court. There’s also a somewhat overgrown softball field And the park is essentially an unofficial off leash dog park, especially in the evenings. Some people don’t like that, but it is what it is and it’s usually bustling with people and dogs after work.

Three out of four playscapes had great shade! We stopped briefly at 11am and despite the texas summer heat of 100 degrees, it was tolerable for an hour. They had good sized climbing structures for multiple age and ability levels. My 6 year old spent most of the time climbing on large D10 structures with climbing holds.
