HEB is not just a grocery store. They're a pillar of the community. HEB is run by one of the most amazing companies. When Central Texans are in need, HEB is there. They donated 500,000 to the survivors of the Uvalde shooting, then donated another 10 million to help build a new school updated to serve the community and help them heal from the tragedy. They make sure to have book drives for children, food drives for the hungry, they offer the Combo Loco that allows you to build a meal and get most of the items for free. When the freeze happened HEB was there to support the community. Life in Texas is getting harder day by day, I find myself fortunate that I live in a community that has an organization like HEB to support us when even our government can't. When they say "Here Everything is Better" and "No store does more than my HEB", they damn well mean it.

NOT HAPPY! I'm not very pleased with these guys lately. It seems that a majority of their food products and packaging are getting smaller and smaller! Remember when packaging descriptions used to read "New and Improved" or "Now 25% More" for the same price? NOW IT SEEMS THAT EVERYTHING IS GETTING SMALLER AND MORE COSTLY. For example, eggs. Only a few weeks ago, I purchased a dozen large eggs, and the size was accordingly. Then I purchased a few weeks later, and the "large" eggs were not the same large size as before! See the picture comparison. There should habern a sign posted saying "smaller and more costly!" And this is happening with many other grocery items. PLEASE STOP DUPPING YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS! 🤔

Great store. I’ve been to another one closer to us in Corsicana that I like better but I’m on vacation so I tried the one here in Austin. It’s definitely a very clean store and lots of good selections compared to other grocery stores. The produce is amazing here for sure. I would say it’s better at H-E-B than anywhere I’ve ever been and that’s at both of these I’ve been to. They did just rearrange this store here obviously because things were hard to find compared to where we were told to go. I wish I had one close to where I live so I could shop here constantly.

A Grocery Shopping Nightmare

I've been a loyal customer of HEB for years, but recent experiences have left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. What used to be a pleasant shopping experience has turned into a chaotic and infuriating ordeal, all thanks to the poorly executed remodeling efforts and questionable operational decisions.

First and foremost, the ongoing remodeling has made navigating the store an absolute nightmare. Instead of enhancing the shopping experience, HEB's decision to shrink the aisles has turned them into congested thoroughfares where you're more likely to bump into other frustrated shoppers than find the products you need. It's as if they've taken inspiration from a maze designed to test one's patience rather than a grocery store layout.

Adding insult to injury, HEB seems to have developed a perverse pleasure in playing hide-and-seek with their merchandise. Items are moved around haphazardly without any regard for customer convenience. Gone are the days of relying on aisle signs to guide you to your desired products; now, it's a guessing game every time you step foot in the store. You might think you've finally figured out where everything is, only to return and find that the layout has been rearranged yet again. It's a frustrating cycle that only serves to waste customers' time and patience.

But wait, it gets even better – or should I say worse? Despite the obvious inconvenience caused by the remodeling, HEB seems determined to exacerbate the situation by keeping only a handful of checkout lanes open at any given time. Long lines snake through the store, resembling scenes from a post-apocalyptic movie rather than a modern grocery store. It's a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction, as if they're intentionally pushing patrons towards the self-checkout lanes as the only viable option. Well, let me make one thing clear: I refuse to do the job of a cashier when I'm the one spending my hard-earned money in their establishment.

In conclusion, HEB's recent actions have effectively transformed what was once a beloved grocery store into a dystopian shopping dystopia. From cramped aisles to the frustrating game of "find the product," topped off with interminable checkout lines, it's abundantly clear that customer convenience is no longer a priority for this once reputable establishment. Unless drastic improvements are made – and soon – they'll find themselves losing more than just loyal customers; they'll be losing their reputation as a reliable and customer-friendly grocery store. Buyer beware: the HEB experience is nothing short of...

There is a peculiar security guard who followed me around the car park and kept repeating that I should vacate the premises. I reside close to this location and frequently visit to make purchases before retiring for the night. I hold a position as an invited professor at Austin University and am an associate researcher at MIT. I graduated from Oxford in the UK. I also dress quite smartly at all times. I was in the vicinity of that place, enjoying sushi that I had purchased from that supermarket. I genuinely don't comprehend why that security guard attempted to pursue me and shouted at me as if I had committed any wrongdoing. I'm also uncertain if he was under the influence because he simply didn't listen to me. I also doubt if he is a legitimate security guard or perhaps one of those individuals who linger around supermarkets, as there was no police or H-E-B insignia on his uniform. This occurred at around 10:30 pm. I was standing near a rubbish bin, eating sushi. I wasn't consuming alcohol, smoking, or engaging in any illicit activities. At that moment, he approached me and began chasing me all around the car park. This location no longer seems safe to me after this incident. I hope a manager of this supermarket will come across this message and have a conversation with this security guard regarding his conduct. If, of course, he is a bona fide security guard. Because his behaviour was quite inappropriate. To substantiate my claims, you can review the video footage; I am certain you have security cameras in place. It will reveal that I did nothing unlawful and was simply peacefully eating my food, which I had just purchased from the supermarket, while contemplating my upcoming lectures. In any case, I hope a manager will see this message and take some form of action, whether or not the individual was a genuine security guard or...

Just got back from HEB (12:45am. 08/15/17) and the manager working tonight (thin young guy, a bit flamboyant, short brown hair, glasses) was so incredibly rude to me. I was asking him questions about their return policy and he told me he would not take my return because it was a "high dollar item". (It was 9.98 before tax) I then asked him what they consider high dollar, because I genuinely wanted to know for future reference. This guy got red in the face and started talking to me in a rude tone while making aggressive hand waving gestures, saying "sir, sir! It is up to our discretion, okay?? If you have a problem you can contact 'so and so'". (I can't remember the name) I told him I was just curious and trying to educate myself on their return policy, and he said "its too late the store is closed sir. Goodnight." And then he turned his back on me and walked away.

Never in my life have I had a manager of a business talk to me in such a rude, impatient, and hostile way. Not only was I feeling embarrassed, but now I was feeling like he had some sort of problem with me personally. I've returned items less than 10 dollars without a receipt for store credit many times before at other HEBs, and I have never had an issue like this. It was by far the worst experience u have ever had at an HEB, which is really a bummer because I've always liked them and preferred them to Wal-Mart. I'm sure they dont care because they make a ton of money, but they have lost my business. I will not be going back to a store where the managers act this way. Its hard to explain in words how he was acting, but if you saw his wide eyes, red face, bulging neck veins and heard the tone in his voice, you would understand the mortifying situation I found myself in all over a simple return.

I am not ever going back to...
