Too bad I did not get to enjoy the experience. Very dissatisfied with the customer service. My fiancé and I were supposed to meet with friends for a B-Day party. The event was supposed to be held on Saturday October 24, and I called on Thursday the 22 at 4:22 PM. I gave the receptionist my name and the group that was flying. She did ask if I had been there before, and I replied no. I had to give my credit card information first and then was instructed to be there at 10:30. There was no mention of policy or cancellations, she already had my info. And as I had stated earlier, I have never been there before. Today I receive a call at 10 am on Saturday stating that my class had already started and I would have to pay because I did not cancel within 48 hours. The receptionist said that I was informed about the cancellation. I assured her this was not true. She did ask if I wanted to go in the next group at 11 and they could push everyone else back because of me. I told her that would defeat the purpose of going with my group. Then I was asked what was the name of the group that I was supposed to be flying with. I replied and she said, "well they are not going till 11 and to be there at 10:30". We still have the problem of adding my fiancé to the list. So not to waste money I decided to let her take my place, but she declined and said it would not be fun. So I lost out on $64.90 for cancelling. I did not do my homework on their operations and polices. Shame on me, but false information on a business transaction is stealing in my book. If I could not make it, I would accept that. Ifly called me to tell me that I was late for a session that I was not even suppose to be in. Mistake on their part. I feel I should be refunded my money due to their mistake, I did not take part in any of their services except for harassment...
Read moreWent here for the first time courtesy of Google. I've always wanted to skydive and this was the perfect opportunity to try the experience.
The iFLY building is easy to find as it is along 183. They even have an Amy's Ice Cream next to it. GG. The check in on the 1st floor was easy and the air tunnel is on the 2nd floor. Going to the 2nd floor you get to see everyone watch in amazement as an instructor and iFly-er float in the tube.
Before you enter the tunnel, you go with a group for a 15 minute training video. Our instructor Tony taught us a few basic hand signals (PAY ATTENTION TO THE HAND SIGNALS). If you don't, you will have a hard time floating. After the training session, you put on the baggy suits, goggles, and helmet.
As I waited in line for the tunnel, there was anxiety and I could start feeling a little adrenaline rush. The minute I entered the tunnel, massive wind just started blowing in my face. My body was moving everywhere even though I was trying hard to stay still. Eventually the instructor was able to get me in the proper position and taught me how to turn and go up/down. It was exhilarating and I really did feel like I was flying. Before I got into the tunnel I was worried about people watching from the outside, but once I got in, I hardly noticed.
We were given two tries in the tunnel, each about 1 minute and 20 seconds long. The second try the instructor flew me up higher in the tunnel. Getting out my body was a little sore and my cheeks hurt a little from the constant blasting wind. Seeing my group members fly was also awesome and we all applauded one another after each try. Great instructor as well. Overall very satisfying experience....
Read moreExcellent - 5 stars and plan to do it again....My son just turned 4 on July 12, so we bought the family pass for all 6 of us to fly and celebrate his birthday. It was the kids' first time. They were intimidated at first, but our flight instructor, Kirk, put them at ease. One day later, our son (4) and daughter (14) are asking when we can go back.
The whole thing took about an hour after you sign all the waivers, training, and suit up. The flight time varies on what you buy, but 2-4 minutes feels like forever in the tunnel. You don't need to bring anything special, just pay attention to the dress code on their website (pants, no collar shirt, close toed shoes, etc.) Free lockers are provided to secure keys, wallet, purse, phone, etc...
My favorite was watching my kids do something they have never done before. In some cases, conquering their fear of the unknown. The next best thing is learning to fly and actually being in the tunnel. My least favorite is the actual expense. It is definitely worth the price, but not sure how to afford enough time to make it a hobby.
Our instructor, Kirk, was awesome! We pre-purchased future flight and hope to get him again to improve our...
