The merchandise is nice. You can find some antique or 'retro' furniture. They had a sale when I went there. It sounded pretty good. So I read off the sign to make sure I was selecting the correct pieces. I was excited. Brought my purchases to the register, rang me up and didn't apply the sale price to any of the items. I alerted the store owner, he asked where I had seen the sign and I showed him exactly where. He came back and said something stupid like, "yeah that's the wrong merchandise" I explained all the signs read something like 'all the little decor pieces were 20% off or something to that effect, anyway there was no way I grabbed the incorrect items being they were right behind the %off sign. I told him so and he wrote it off said it was the wrong sign. I bought something like 100$ worth of merchandise. Was it really too much to ask for a little respect if nothing else? The owners are rude and loud. They stand near the register and yell loudly about gross things and some disease they got. WTH?! I won't be returning. A bunch of entitled middle aged nutcases that know nothing about...
Read moreROOM SERVICE IS THE BEST VINTAGE STORE IN AUSTIN! They are also offering 20% off of everything for the entire month of February. The store has a wide selection of vintage furniture, decor, knick-knacks, clothing, and accessories that you can’t find anywhere else. Every time I visit I always find a few things to take home and compared to other ATX vintage stores this is definitely more affordable. I love how funky and kitschy this store is. I can spend an entire afternoon here and exploring this part of North Loop. FYI – Parking out front can occasionally be tough to come by if it’s a busy day but there’s lots of nearby street parking. It can also be difficult to maneuver in this store when there’s lot of people. I prefer to come on a weekday to maximize...
Read moreSomething for everyone is to be found at Room Service. And the name of the store does justice to the treasures in every single nook and cranny. I am impressed by the enormous collection of vintage "Playboy" magazines in mint condition. I am assuming the former owner(s) of said magazines only read the articles. I didn't find the items to be too expensive for the quality. It seems that the owners buy from serious collectors because everything that I looked at had been well-taken care of by former owners. I will add that I liked the selection of vintage Chucks and ponchos. And Room Service deserves a grand prize for their bunny rabbit-themed restroom. I've never encountered anything like it in my...
