Fairly new gambler here. I decided to finally have the courage to go to a casino. Horseshoe being my first casino ever to play real games such as roulette, craps, blackjack. I was excited to use my knowledge to play these games at hand and at my own expense. My experience overall is a 1. If I could provide a -1, I would too. Lets start with parking. cameras everywhere which makes you feel safe until you're asked by people lurking in the parking lot asking you for money, the stairwell and entryways smell like urine. So there's a strike. While playing at the table again, (my money) other people who play games such as craps, and blackjack really dont know how to play the game. I see lots of people just throwing money (which is the point) but theres also statistics and thoughtful thinking while playing. when I decide to make a move with MY MONEY they get angry to the point of harassment which could compromise my safety. I decided to try coming different times (daytimes instead of weekends). The same type of environment lurks at the tables. Dealers ignore the verbal threats at the table which bothers me considering money is involved and if the dealer doesn't say hey thats not welcomed behavior here at the casino to protect patrons then I rather save my money. Another time I had two different people within the same time of my short extent visit ask me for money while playing at the gambling table. Obviously the answer is NO. But the casino allows people who arent playing to sit and hang out at tables like they are someones couch and you literally have to beg and ask people to get up to play when they shouldn't be at the table to begin with. Also, this distraction that the casino promotes and allows to occur takes away focus from paying attention to the table and what is happening because you have to deal with people who are mentally unstable, smell horribly, no money, angry due to losses, asking people for money due to their loss. Soooo Overall I rather go back to saving and using stocks. I'm aware of the type of environment gambling brings but dont call yourself a 5 star casino and give the dog and pony show when you're really a circus promoting clownery actions. Oh reward system got hacked. As a result I received a letter stating the casino is now paying two years security identify theft monitoring. Way to really protect your patrons horseshoe. Turn the casino into a better building for the community instead of compromising its...
Read moreI like many people who have been to this casino over the past few years have seen such a horrible and steady decline. The last few times I’ve gone have gotten worse and worse which brings me to last night… After waiting in line for over 15 minutes to get in quite a few of the kiosks were unavailable to use and by the time my friends and I used one, one of my friends had a direct bet that didn’t dispense the ticket. Deciding we were not going to get back into yet another line to speak with customer service, we went to play some table games…. While at the craps table, we didn’t see a waitress for 1hr30min and when we finally saw her she said she’d be back and we never saw her again…. Finally, after about another 20-25 minutes we tracked down another server and she got us some beverages. So, two hours into our outing we finally got drinks while playing the slowest craps game ever. As we were playing craps our group and others had notice multiple areas there were active leaks/drips coming from the ceiling spaces… Once my group and I finished our craps session, we went into the high limit area to play blackjack… Where yet again, we asked the floor management to get us a server and after an hour + we finally got our second round of drinks… While waiting for our drinks and enjoying our experience with the dealer(s) in the high limit room myself and one of my friends were getting bit by gnats to where today he and I both have big bites on our arms and legs… As we were then asked to leave the high limit room because it was closing down, I went to the bar to grab my friends drinks seeing that the service in there in non existent the experience at the bar was that much worst. There was one bartender and quite a few people surrounding the bar and she was noticeably overwhelmed and was expressing her frustrations to anyone who would listen and from what I could tell seemed justifiable. After 30 minutes of waiting to get my drinks and walking back to the table my friends were at, after dropping them off we all noticed what appeared to be feces on the floor near a slot machine. It was at this point I had finally had enough and same with the party I was with and we all left.
This casino went from being one of the more premiere places to go in Baltimore to a place that if it weren’t for being a Caesar’s rewards member I would never step foot in again. This establishment is disgusting and in dire need of a makeover or some kind...
Read moreUgh. This place is the WORST! I love slots, so that's what I'm reporting on. Machines - TIGHT, no give on higher denominations or bets (so get comfy playing at 1 cent denomination playing $0.50 - $1.00 - though you'll still lose) but you'll definitely get ZILCH on higher bets or denoms;. It actually feels like they've turned the machines completely OFF of winning anything...not even your bet which is no fun at all. Many machines are not working and the ones that are working are often only partially working - buttons stuck, screens cracked, etc. Overall Service - TERRIBLE with a couple of exceptions - 2 mature women of color on the floor (one black, one Indian - both fabulous); The Smoking Room: Ghetto as HELL. Folks are in there smoking weed, holding machines for HOURS with $0.50 in them, chairs turned and jackets and purses left - weird territorial ownership...and they will literally fight you if you ask if someone is playing here or notice they are holding the machine hostage while playing someplace else. The smoking area is also extremely nasty, (I feel bad for and like the team that tries to beat back the mess but they are woefully understaffed); not enough ashtrays and homeless folks are there 24/7 asking for money or a cigarette. Most of this applies to the regular casino floor as well minus the smoke. High Limit is a ghost town and rightfully so...that's where you go to be alone and donate because it's tight there too. I was Seven Star year after year when I played at Harrah's Cherokee and loved it. There's no way I'd do that level of play in Baltimore for the reasons I've ready described. Plus, if you're high diamond or 7star, there's no privilege like at other properties - no distinction at the cage (you'll wait and wait and wait), everyone can reserve machines - not just 7star/high diamond, etc. If you play the tables, you might have a good time, but for slot lovers like me...it is a deeply disappointing experience. I still go regularly because I like to play and I go all hours to find the best time - there isn't one. Early, late, weekend, weekday - you'll see what I'm talking about. Go play...just be prepared. Harrahs, please don't bother with one of your canned and useless responses like the ones I've seen on other posts where people...
