This weekend we participated in the 25th Lighthouse Challenge NJ - The challenge is to visit 11 lighthouse sites, 3 lifesaving stations, and 1 museum over the two day weekend. Stop #6. What a nice find! The museum is a few blocks away from the lighthouse. We didn’t even know it existed. Worth the visit. Volunteers are very knowledgeable and super nice. It used to be a one room schoolhouse and we met a woman who was a student there back in the day. Street parking....

Such a beautiful piece of history. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the lighthouse, museum (formerly a schoolhouse) and the overall area. The garden is lovely and well maintained. I enjoyed the little video about the coast guard dog Sinbad. That is definitely great for kids to check out.
