The Keepers Liquor — Local services in Barnegat Light

Down for the week, I wanted to grab a bottle of wine and a six-pack. They had a solid selection of beer, including some from Cape May Brewing, if I remember correctly. I ended up with a Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin. All the beer was chilled, if that makes a difference. The wine selection had about 3 or 4 dozen selections, with most of the major types covered. I didn't look too hard at the liquors, but they were good brands, even if there weren't many different brands. All prices were surprisingly reasonable for an island, although it's still cheaper to buy from the mainland. Seemed family-run, but I could be wrong. I visited this establishment earlier this week, and it's a stretch to call this an actual liquor store. The selection is not that great and the people working in it are scumbags. We are staying in Barnegat Light for two weeks and I called this morning (at 10:15AM) simply to ask what time they open so I could make the run for the week. The response? "Oh God", as if I shouldn't be calling. I will gladly drive the 3 miles out of my way now to go to another liquor store, as this establishment simply isn't worth the time. The Keepers Liquor store in Barnegat Light is a pleasure to have on the North end of the island. From all the different beers and a good selection of wine to various and some hard to find liquors. They have specifically accommodated me and other local family members by sourcing and bringing in a request and its appreciated. Grab a shirt too when your in there! Infinitely better then...
