Kitty Hawk Kites — Attraction in Barnegat Light

I’ve been trying to learn how to kite board for two years and came to Kitty Hawk Kites this summer. I’ve been absolutely amazed at how friendly and knowledgeable the entire staff is. They’ve been warm and welcoming which is so important as a beginner Kite Boarder.

And I especially have to call out the cheerful Kevin — he’s been my instructor several times over several trips to Kitty Hawk Kites. Kevin has been absolutely wonderful from answering phone calls when I am out of town asking about wind to giving me hands-on instruction about safety and leveling up my game.

Kagan also has been super helpful even when I haven’t been taking lessons and just launching from the yard— both Kagan and Kevin have always kept a watchful eye.

Long story short— there are other places here that might have sexier marketing, but this is the place I would send a family member who...

This store is so disappointing. Who needs a kite store?! The Islander had everything one could possibly need way down here in Barnegat Light. I was there the other day and needed some body lotion. The owner said they don’t have things like that. She said they didn’t feel too bad not offering the same things because people could drive to Whites or into Harvey Cedars or Surf City. To be honest with her, she should care. BL needs a 5 and 10 cent store. I can’t see this...

I went into the Kitty Hawk/Life is Good store today and was super happy with my experience! Both the manager, Gregg and key holder Alex were so helpful. They both went above and beyond to make my store visit super fun and easy. I will absolutely be back for more shopping and I hope to see them both again!!
