The Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises is an absolute amazing attraction and a definite must do activity when visiting Cape Cod MA.
In August of 2022, I brought and treated myself and my wife for a guided cruise tour with the Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises and we very much enjoyed every moment of our cruise experience!!!
During our cruise tour, we had the chance to view and take great pictures of a group Humpback whales as well as a pair of Fern whales, which is 2nd largest whale species on Earth.
Viewing these breathtaking creatures in the wild, and witnessing their dives, their swimming and spouting was absolutely awesome and is truly a magnificent sight to behold.
In addition to our great views of the whales, my wife and I also appreciated the wonderful customer service provided by the staff on the cruise. The cruise staff warmly welcomed us as we boarded the vessel, shared interesting facts on the whales that swim near Cape Cod and delegated ample time and opportunities to view and take pictures of the whales.
The waters of Cape Cod contains & support a plethora of marine life and is major feeding ground for whales. Due to those facts, guests are in great position to see whales as well as other animals, ranging from turtles, fishes, dolphins and many other creatures found in the Cape Cod waters.
Both my wife and I highly recommend for everyone to tour with the Hyannis Whale Watchers Cruise. They are a top notch in every way,and you’ll very much enjoy and treasure your whale tour...
Read moreReally nice experience. See many suggestions below. Worth it. Just as good as advertised. Appreciated the staff working hard. Suggestions: All whale watch cruises in the larger area sail to the same spot way off PTown, so choose the best-run cruise. Hyannis tops the reviews for good reason. Why not stay mid-cape too. Nice restaurant next door. Arrive exactly 45-60 min early. Parking is rough, $15 and doesn't open until 60 min before your cruise. People line up 55 min before and they let you on the boat soon, so arrive early to get a good seat. 18+ on very top level, great views up high and very sunny. Nice seats on sides (some shade). Most whales were found on a side slightly nearer front/bow of the boat. During the hour-ish cruise out/back (each way) we liked the shade. The back/stern was loud but nice too (shade, some cooling spray, less wind and great views). We liked the afternoon cruise (fewer boats annoying the whales, less direct sun, a little less busy and amazing sunset on ride back). Snacks were pretty reasonable. They let you bring tiny coolers and bags (read restrictions), so pack an extra layer (10-15 degrees cooler out there), sun glasses, hat?, binoculars?, some little snacks and a few water/drinks. So arrive early (embrace the temp traffic), find nice seats, leave your bags (no valuables) if you want to run around the boat as whales are found and go back to your seats for the beautiful cruise home. Maybe go to restaurant (no reservations) next door for bathroom and...
Read moreYou'll cruise about an hour to get to the whale feeding spot where you'll get a chance to see some whales. They cruise relatively fast and it's windy and cold so you'll need a sweatshirt! We saw 9 whales: 8 humpback that included two moms and their calves and a minke whale. It was amazing! We got some good pics and also purchased the video put together by the professional videographer they have on board which was definitely worth the cost. They set up on the very top level of the boat and have a much better camera than we do! The naturalist provides some interesting commentary about the whales and also lets you know where to look to see them. The only downside to the entire cruise was they let people smoke on board. It's in a specific part of the boat - downstairs in the back right next to the stairs - and even though they try to tell you that the smoking area is contained, you can't contain the smoke which travels everywhere. We were upstairs in the back of the boat and the smoke and smell came up the stairs and it was awful. They really need to make it a no smoking trip and anyone who can't go 4 hours without a cigarette should find something else to do instead of negatively impacting the 95% of people on board who don't smoke. It really takes away from how great the rest of the trip is and many people around us were complaining. Aside from that this is definitely a great trip and you'll see some amazing whales and sites! I'd give this 5 stars if the cruise...
