My fiancée and I began ring searching roughly 6 months ago while I was living in California. We decided to stop by M.J. Miller & Co. during a stay in Barrington early on in our search due to the formative reputation the store has within the community. Knowing we were at the beginning of the research phase and not at all concerned that we wouldn't be spending any money that particular day, Marc sat us down and patiently taught us an enormous amount about diamonds, metals, and jewelry design. We looked at stones of all sizes and varieties and left feeling like 1) we had a great resource in Marc and 2) we had a better understanding of the search criteria we would use moving forward.

Over the next few months my fiancée and I exchanged design notes and eventually I sent a number of these over to Marc for review. When it was time to make a purchase, I asked what we could find or design would match our goals in an engagement ring and he quickly responded with a few spectacular options. Price was comparable to online distributors but quality was outstanding and after seeing the particular stone that we agreed was the frontrunner, it was clear that this was an exceptional diamond. It's really hard to compare diamonds online but when you have a team of experts like those at MJ Miller evaluating the more subjective aspects of a stone, you get a product that has shape, sparkle, and brilliance that are hard to measure and communicate with quantitative metrics alone. We made the right choice.

Once we had the ring design in motion, Peter worked patiently with us to adjust as necessary. His craftsmanship is exceptional and his attention to detail is fantastic. When I arrived at the store to pick up the ring, Marc, Peter, and Michael (the owner) all came down to say good luck and ensure all details were addressed (from diamond and ring to appraisal and GIA lab report). They even followed up with a note after the engagement.
