Overall great buying experience, with some caveats;
I was looking to get a new lawn tractor with snowblower. When I arrived it was not clear where the salesman were (offices are tucked off to the side behind equipment), as I was looking around no one came to ask me if I needed anything (to be fair it was near lunch time). After about 10 minutes I finally went to the service desk and asked to talk to a salesman and one came out right away. Salesman was friendly, answered all questions, and the whole purchasing process was pain free and fast. I was informed it takes about a week for their service department to look over the machine, make sure any attachments hooked up and worked properly, and I would get a call when it was ready. After a week I received the call my machine was ready, picking it up was fast and easy and I was able to use one of their trailers to get it home. Overall great experience.
The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is my mower was not set up or ready to go when I got it home. The mower deck was installed, but belts were not hooked up, the deck was quite a ways out of level, and tires were all low on pressure. I feel if I have to wait a week for their service department to go over the machine it should be ready to go with no additional maintenance required by myself when I take delivery.
I would not hesitate to recommend Midwest to anyone, just be sure to make it clear the machine should be ready to use, or be prepared to do some of that initial setup and maintenance...
Read morePurchased a motor for a log splitter, said they had all the adapters in stock, picked up motor and found they did not have to correct 1 in stock and told me to check other places in town. I found the adapters they said they stocked online at northern tool. Also found out Northern tool sells the same motor exact motor for 130 dollars less then less. Contacted them day after motor was purchased and was told they cannot meet that price. I asked if they could come close and was told no, that was there price no room. Asked if i could return the motor and was told 20 percent restocking fee. This would make it pointless. I trusted them and did not price check first which is my fault. This is a bad way to run a...
Read moreAttempted to purchase a snow blower and get it installed on my x324. The salesman scheduled a time on a Sunday to drop off my machine. It would have been an extremely nice gesture if he would have not been a “no show”. Instead it wasted hours of my time waiting for him. I was told they had all the parts in stock and that it would be a two hour installation. I ended up dropping it off on a Tuesday and the service department didn’t even know about the appointment. It turned out the parts weren’t in either and that they weren’t going to be ready until the following Tuesday. All the salesman could do is laugh if off and act like it isn’t a big deal. Terrible customer service. I will never...
