Maybe I'm biased regarding our Metroparks options but as usual the atea is well maintained.
Surprisingly to us there are no picnic tables or apparently any reason to be in that specific area except to see the falls. Although you could picnic on a blanket as there is that option.
We had a difficult time locating the park as our individual, competing, cellphone GPS directions were incompatible.
There's a baseball diamond & bleachers at the end of the parking lot. We played board games in the large pavilion. I only saw 1 other picnic table next to the swings (could be more) but it was not shaded.
We observed people disappearing to & appearing from various areas therefore there must be trails & a small group disappeared with kayaks - apparently they can launch nearby. You can easily hear the river from the pavilion.

Read moreThis park is kind of weird but cool. When we initially got there I was very confused. The parkinglot had people drinking and smoking (weed) in their cars and playing music. Not a big deal but some of the people walking around didnt look like people going to see waterfalls. I though for sure we were at the wrong place. But just a quick walk into the park it turns wooded and has a cool waterfall and is worth checking out. Also there are weird dark tunnels I saw people crawling into and encouraging us to also crawl into. Im not a mole person so I declined. Overall it was is a cool park. I could be wrong but I get the vibe it is the place were teens hangout and smoke and drink at night...
