Once a Great Park — Now Sadly Neglected

This park used to be such a wonderful place for families, but it’s gone downhill. A couple years ago they replaced the soft mulch in the playground with old rubber and plastic pieces, and now the whole area smells like burnt rubber. It’s unpleasant to sit nearby, and I worry about kids playing in it — it just doesn’t feel clean or safe anymore, despite the Jellybean disclaimer on the wall. My kids leave the play area with blackened feet.

The bathrooms are another big disappointment. There used to be a separate women’s restroom, but now both bathrooms are labeled as “all-gender.” Unfortunately, that change hasn’t been maintained well at all. Every time I’ve visited lately, the floors are wet, the stalls are dirty, and there’s often urine everywhere. It’s especially frustrating as a parent — little girls and women deserve a clean, sanitary place to use the restroom at a public park.

Love this park. Simply beautiful and serene. Excellent place to be with nature and yourself. A nice quite early AM walk will kick-start your day. And if you have kids, this is a perfect outdoor play place. It has a play area with swings, slides, a rock climbing space, obstacle challenges, covered picnic areas, basket-ball court, rest rooms and more. You have a dog? it gets even better, there is dog park to unwind those legs with no leash. And not to miss the season change, Spring brings with it yards and yards of wild flowers. Spacious & Open Recreation Area Bee Cave Park is a combination of well manicured areas near the extensive 4’ concrete walkways surrounded by wild flowers and grasses. There is a huge spacious off leash wooden fenced area for dogs. Dogs are required to be on leash, and compliance is excellent. There are many amenities including play areas and playscapes for kids, a basketball court for shooting hoops, and a small amphitheater, wth power for music or other events. Playscapes are protected with colorful nylon sunshades. I highly recommend this park for parents and kids, couples, or individuals for all types...
