After leaving because they wanted $30 to dry camp, I stopped and talked to a local biker that said they pretty well have the market cornered for camping near town, I went back and got a tent site for the night. I was in space 2. The map they gave me shows it to be in the RV area. I pitched and rode my bike to town for dinner. I get a call from the camp. Apparently, there's two site 2's and I had set up in the wrong one.
As I rolled up outside the park, a woman stopped me and explained they were supposed to be in site 2, but they took the one next to me and there was no need for me to move my camp. The office was closed. I decided since it was dark, I was tired (I am doing all this on a prosthetic), and the occupant said it was open, I wouldn't have to move. I was leaving in the morning anyway. The next morning, I get a text from the office wanting me to pay ANOTHER $30 because I didn't move. So $60 to DRY CAMP. I was leaving as I got the text and stopped by to hash it out. It was not pretty.
I will not be back. ...now that I've seen the dry camp area. It's a little tiny area roped-off with...
Read moreThis Rv park is part of a POA. It’s for the people who own a home or lot in Bella Vista. You can stay up to 14 days if you do not own a home or if you do, up to 6 months. There are some long term RVers in the park. This is not a RV Park, other than its a big parking lot with RV spots. The parking lot is maintained but the sites are sort of trashy with dead leaves and dead grass. There are no trees to shade your RV durning the day, other than the two sites at the end. The road into the park is Extremely narrow and when leaving you must go up the hill and there is a blind spot. This park has washers and dryers, along with a rec room with AC. The bathrooms are very dated, and has no AC or heat. it was extremely hot in Aug when we stayed here. There are miles of biking and walking trails right outside of the park. There are 7 golf courses in the area. The best part is there is a WallMart in Jane Mo just north of the park that has a liquor store attached with great prices. All of the S/w/e all worked. Bella Vista has lot of trails for those who love...
Read moreThis is based on the hiking only. Although I understand this area is popular for the mountain bike enthusiasts, and probably great for them. We wished to enjoy the nature trails other than the paved way (which was well maintained). However, we also wanted to stay out of the experienced bikers' way. The nature trails labeled as easy were not marked on the trails and the map provided was not accurate nor scaled. However, the bikers were courteous when we did get in their way. So folks here are really nice. Another thing, the website for this park indicated its just a campground, but there is a day use area to park. There is an arboretum, but there not flowers only trees. The site doesn't mention the...
