This park is beautifully designed. Multiple wonderful play areas for different age groups. Two accessible family bathrooms (uncleaned, but I don't except much from public bathrooms). The reason I'm rating this park so low is the amount of bullying my 3 year-old experienced from multiple children. There was a sibling duo (maybe 8 and 7 ages) that kept following me and my child around calling him a "loser," teasing him, and making it impossible for him to explore the play areas. Once those kids left, a group of older boys (maybe 8 year) yelled at my 3 year-old and then mocked how he speaks and his frustration. It appeared that any of the kids did not have parents near-by (maybe the kids live in the neighborhood?). Myself and other parents intervened multiple times. There was another kid, maybe 10 years old, that was wandering around the park with a toy long-gun, pointing it at small children's' heads and pretending to shoot. He then was using the gun to "patrol" the slides where my child and his friend (also 3 years old) were trying to slide. I acknowledge that this is just pretend, but it was just strange to see at a public playground. We frequent playgrounds all over the city and this was by far the rudest children we've ever experience (and kids can be rude in generally, but these kids were next level). We will try the park again in hopes that this was...
Read moreDeplorable parking. Park was awesome from the beginning, but parking was deplorable from the beginning. They remodeled the park, took forever, and didn’t add any parking to the main lot. They oughta be ashamed of themselves. It’s almost like they did it on purpose to keep it a neighborhood park. Now you have families pitted against each other for a space, only to wait 20 minutes or more. Many people probably quit and just leave, disappointing the whole family. It’s really awful. Then you add a restaurant, a location that has struggled for many different restaurants so far, and the parking is just a nightmare for both restaurant patrons and the employees. I mentioned it to the restaurant, and they don’t care. What can they really do? They struggle just to find parking before their shift. How terrible would that be? You have to show up half an hour early to your job just to park! Who did the so-called planning of this park??? Like I said, you really ought to be ashamed of yourselves and you need to find another profession if this is what you call adequate parking for a park surrounded by a major city. I apologize for the insult, but I really can’t stand this kind of park planning. There are many parks that get parking right, and this is like the bottom of the barrel for the ones who...
Read moreBeautiful park my kids loved it so much and in a beautiful part of town. Unfortunately our fun was cut short due to some creep that got off the bus and decided to sit at the picnic tables by the playground and watch me and my children while pulling his private parts out and playing himself in broad daylight. I'm so glad there was some sort of event that had ended and people were packing up to leave still, I ran to look for some kind of security guard there wasn't any but a young lady packing helped us out instead and walked right over to him and escorted him off the park property. I was shocked just because its such a beautiful area but I knew something was up when he was walking through the park area with no kids and as soon as he saw me and my kiddos he went to the other side of the table and began to put his hands in his pant. It was scary and gross and definitely caught me off guard. Glad my kids didn't see him but something told me to keep my eye on him while they...
